I don't easily get offended as such, but I can get very, err, opinionated if people disagree with me without providing a bit of info on what's wrong with what I was saying. It's OK to disagree with theory (probably a good thing in fact) but when you do it's vital to provide a bit of experimental pro...

Blah. Warning, I'm slightly irritated and stuck at home (not feeling well) so this will be a long post. If you lower, your camber behaviour over your suspension's travel will almost always be changed. It's possible for the camber to remain exactly the same, but on the the wrong side of the curve (i....

Hi! Yeah, compressing the springs is probably a bad idea. It'll have all sorts of unpleasant and dangerous effects on the handling. The first time you hit a corner with bumps at a reasonable speed, the car will be off the road. Mind you, any lowering is likely to have as many bad side-effects as it ...

Hmm, I just found out somethng odd. The standard City Turbo upper stabiliser bar fits my Civic fine. It's exactly the right length. All I have to do is drill two holes to mount it slightly higher than the original Civic one (very easy to do), and it'll be in. I was expecting I'd have to weld up a ne...

Yep, I did understand all that, what I was really confused about was someone saying they were the same.

Now I'm a bit puzzled. From memory, Sikaflex is a silicone-like hardening goo that can be used to fill gaps, the following link seems to agree: http://www.sika.co.nz/nz_ind_prodsel_alphalist_page.htm whereas the later suggestion was to use a piece of PVC pipe. Seems completely different? Am I misund...

OK, now that's the sort of info I like. Simple, easy and effective solutions! I'll give that a try.

What I'll probably do is make a steel sleeve that fills the gap, but I'm still wondering if that's how they are on the original cars, or if both of mine have worn or are missing something...

Upper stabiliser bar/engine mount strangeness

Just a question. When I got the engine for my Civic conversion, I grabbed the upper stabiliser bar (engine mount) as well, the one that goes from the engine near the dsitributor to the bulkhead. The rubber bush on one end was very loose, it could be wobbled around inside the ring it sits in. I assum...

I haven't done it, but I know the vague layout; the main difference will be the fuel pump feed. Take a look at the wiring colours, do most of them match, but there's one or two left over coming from the front with no matching wires in the rear loom? Those wires (I think there are two, earth and +12)...

Yep, not easy to find. Keep your eyes open, they do show up from time to time, and not always at mad prices. I may be buying a bulk lot of EB Civic parts sometime soonish; I don't think there are any wheels in there, but if there are I'll let you know.

Short answer - yes, a T1 plenum will fit. I have one on my turbo EB Civic, and it fits. Just. Or, you could make one up.

Hyper: You'd probably need to know what to look under to find anything there. For instance, the Japanese word for Civic is apparently 'shibitsuku'. Doing a search for Civic RS wouldn't turn up this auction, but the Japanese (kana) for shibitsuku would have worked. Bigelboe: Yeah, I thought so! For t...
