Re: Bad Oil leak, Any ideas where from?

It is likely to be a number of things as the ER engines have a few areas that are common for oil leaks. The main one that can create quite a mess is the oil return pipe running underneath the turbo & even the turbo oil feed line can harden & crack over time. As for the oil return pipe the ga...

Re: Honda City's Carburetor

That's definitely not normal, there is a problem somewhere. I am not up to play with the automatic City's but from what i understand the red top autos have a auto-choke (i could be wrong here) & the black top manual City's use a manual choke that i am 100% sure about. To the left of the steering...

Re: [Need Help] Best BOV Vacuum source.

Chances are you haven't Teed into the correct line, you are most likely on a boost only line. Make sure your line is one that leads to the under side of the throttle bodies, i have never had an issue with the City engine not being able to pull the BOV open, there could also be a problem with the BOV...

Re: cabriolet engine

That fine to ask those questions here, it's still a City after all. Now i'm not to sure exactly what engine the Pro-T has as we do not have them here in New Zealand that i am aware of but what i can gather is that they are the Australian Domestic Market version of the City-E found here in NZ, if so ...

Re: Ignition timing

Ok yeah it sounds like it may have a split in it, the engine will drop revs by around 200-300rpm when the diaphragm is good & working as it should when blocking off that hose as it stops the advanced timing which helps it idle so if it is a huge drop in revs then its likely to have split. I'm mo...

Re: Ignition timing

Yes it should move to the 20 degree mark however the Vacuum advance diaphragm may have split which is common with these as they are old plus running higher boost levels also shortens their life. You should be able to tell if it is leaking by squeezing the number 2 hose tight enough to block the vacu...

Re: Ignition timing

As long as you are at idle & your vac advance is working right then you will be looking for the 20 degree mark unless you have removed number 2 vac hose then you will be looking for TDC which is shown as a T on the flywheel. You may want to spray some brake cleaner on the flywheel marking to rem...

Re: IGNITION PROBLEM

Try 3gspares, hes on Facebook. A T1 dizzy will work but will advance the idle timing by around 8 degrees, i doubt it will be an issue but can't be sure as i haven't tried.

Re: Ignition timing

There shouldn't be any markings for timing on the cambelt end, there are some markings for the water pump/alternator belt as a guide for tension. If you are using a basic timing light (no dial) with the engine running at idle you will be going for the 20 degree mark but ideally you should use a timi...

Re: Head Torque Sequence

There is likely some information here on the forum but i can't be bothered looking however just work centre out for tightening & outside in for loosening, that's common practice for most engines. Also do it in 3 steps (20mn, 40mn, 60mn as an example)

Fairly sure 'Turdbo' still has the black T1 bonnet with a spare lump somewhere in his shed but you will have to PM him about it.
