Re: Rebuilt T1 FS Christchurch

Rebuilt T1 FS Christchurch

Hey guys, as disappointing as it is I've decided I'm getting out of the city game. It was fun while it lasted but I'm moving onto bigger and better things. I've listed my T1 on TradeMe for $4,500 but if anyone on this site is interested I'd be happy to notch it down to $4,000. Here's the TradeMe lin...

Re: Digital speedo playing up

Digital boost gauge sensor is known for having a dodgy solder (95% of them crap out) so there's definitely a possibility there, though I haven't heard of it happening with the whole speedo before. Worth investigating though.

Re: T1 idles like a tractor and clogs up in low revs

I don't think the exhaust is going to be causing those issues. A common issue for "idling like a tractor" could be valve adjustment, depends exactly what you mean by that though. Grogging up to me sounds like a fueling issue, potentially fuel pump or injectors? One thing I would look into ...

Re: Hunting idle under hard braking?

Yeah I already checked out that video and took the auto choke assembly off and cleaned it out and all that. I'm thinking that the screws just need to be at exactly the perfect position which is hard to get..

Hunting idle under hard braking?

So I've been battling with the famous hunting idle issue, and I've managed to ALMOST fix it by playing with the screws on the auto choke and idle speed on the throttle body. It was a bit of playing to get it to idle on cold and on warm but it is now, apart from when I come to a stop after braking se...

Re: Harrehs T2

Swapping turbo's in these cars with the engine in is the worst thing you'll ever have to do. I sincerely wish you luck hahaha! There really is no room for any tools or your hands, we had to buy smaller sized spanners just for the job

Re: bitterberry

Did my 500km run in oil break in period, changed oil and went for a drive today. Engine runs really good and has, for lack of a better word, a shit load more power than it did on the old engine. I'm going to get in trouble with this car  so happy with it though, a lot of work went into the rebu...

Re: bitterberry

Finally got this thing up and running! Had a few issues with timing initially, but now it's running sweet and feels really good (and sounds great too). Sadly I can't really drive it yet because it's out a WoF, hopefully will get one tomorrow but I'm a little worried because the springs are slightly ...

Re: spike10000's T2

Exhaust looks good! The motorcycle can kind of fits with the size of a city hahaha. How much boost are you running? Stock boost cut on T1 is 14psi, unsure what it is for T2 but you will definitely know when you hit it. Boost cut on these cars just cuts spark so the weight shift from being full boost...

Re: bitterberry

At this stage worn engine will just be spare parts, may take it more apart in future just out of interest but it's pretty useless to me atm. Actually no just a big breaker bar and they came off pretty easy, works a treat!

Re: bitterberry

I love em also, and the City owner I metup with in Japan actually *gave* me one that he had & never used as a Gift! Will eventually mount it on my Turbo I :) I hope he gave you the spring that goes inside the mirror, they're a really weird design and use spring pressure to hold the mirror down ...

Re: spike10000's T2

Nice looking T2! I had the same issue with the alternator belt squealing, had it on max tension but still wasn't tight enough, ended up filing out the adjuster to get a little less slack in it. Can't wait to see more photos/updates :)

Re: bitterberry

Hey guys, been a while since I've updated the thread. Partly because I wasn't making much progress for a while, but it's starting to take shape now. Old engine is out. I'm re-using the intake/exhaust manifolds and the turbo from the other engine (the turbo is the upgraded rodeo turbo, I was always p...

Works good for me, maybe it's unavaliable in your country DDmitry?
Sweet wee collection they've got there! They sure seem to love turbo swapping their cabriolet's over there
