Bearings, seals & all that

From when we did the rebuild on our engine you will need those you show in bold plus front & rear oil seals, oil pan set, plus, presumably you have taken the head off the block, so you will need all the valve stem seals as well as head gasket set and, if you have a CVCC engine in your car (as I'...

Green Civic

Hi Charles The Green Civic is currently housed at Chris's father in law's farm - in a shed, along with the vine nets. If you could send me an email or use the message facility here I can give you Chris's email at mac.com so you can talk direct to him. I am not sure that he wants to sell right now - ...

Silver I agree with Bigelboe, we have ARP high tensile studs and we are runnig 15, about to go to 20 or so of boost. Does put a "bit" of stress on the old head gasket! So if you are going to keep on running 20 psi replace the head studs with ARP when you replace the gasket. Then they get t...

Head job is pretty easy, couple of key things to know up front: Gasket cost is not the only one, you'll need new oil, oil filter and decent coolant, do NOT use water as coolant, or the beast will fail again soon. You will need a decent set of sockets, and a torque wrench. Instruction on torque setti...

Well, I've just posted a diagram in the gallery but forgot to put the values on the potentiometers - they are all 10k ohm, linear. So when they are centred pretty well at 5kohm per control. Basically a pair of identical layouts, signal - ie white on VF control comes into one end of the 10k pot, far ...

Bigelboe "if you have enough skills to make a circuit on proto board" - well, once upon a time as a graduate student I used to design and make hardware for PDP DEC 8 & 11 computers in our lab, and make the odd bit of instrumentation up. (Mind you, that was about the time our EB1 was be...

Bigelboe I'll both draw a scematic, and also take to it with a multi-meter and see what it is doing in terms of black box function. My suspicion is that it picks up the 5V supply to the MAP and the sensor reading then biases the MAP reading either up or down using the signal ground or the 5V supply....

Many thanks Bigelboe. Picture of the inside now in the gallery. The wires to the VF and VC controls cluster together, (that is, VF and VC controls are linked) and BF and BC go together. My suspicion is that it goes between the MAP 1 and MAP 2 sensors and the computer, "fooling" the compute...

Mysterious control box - any ideas

A question for those who have been around a while. We have a black box, with eight wires coming from it, four rotary controls labelled VF, VC, BF and BC. It came with the Green Civic / City project when we bought it from Charles. He commented that we would need it later, but get the car running firs...

Reasonable Cost Dyno guys in Adelaide

I'm curious as to how much juice the Green Civic can put out. (After some fun driving today, I reckon its time to tune the beast and see what she can do for real.) Might need to do a boost cut defender first, as we kept hittingthat brick wall today, but definitely dyno time. Anyone know of any good ...

I understand that Charles had a previous Civic / City that was up there in the power stakes. If you read the description in our post on the green civic, you'll see things like: Ported throttle body, knife edge throttle blades, ported inlet manifold, custom exhaust (equal length) manifold, Garrett GT...

We're running a standard city turbo computer, but it is married into a Civic loom - bought the car in bits ...

See our ride details - Green Civic. Very hotted up non standard beast.
