That is an exhaust over heat sensor. It registers a light on the dash it the exhaust gets too hot but does not run through the ECU in any way. It gives you a bit of a warning if you are running too lean etc. It is a basic EGT sensor.

Don't quite agree with you. 85kw (114hp) at the wheels on 13psi is not that easy with a stock motor. That equates to roughly 148hp at the fly (more than the little mugen cars made with 22psi). Depends on the dyno and operator there is no real point quoting one dyno off against another. Rather look a...

I had prelude injectors in an er engine at one stage. With a boost cut lifter and @ 22 psi it made 85 kw at the wheels. It was way too rich at 10:1 though. I took the injectors out and returned the stockies. They can run a bit leaner than most engines and make more power as they get leaner. I person...

Pretty sure that solenoid is linked to the temp sensor on the front of the block near the oil pressure solenoid. Until the car is warm the solenoid stays closed to retard the ignition and heat the car up quicker. It is an emission thing only. You can bypass it with no problem. The slow release throt...

I do the same on conversions. Strip out the wiring loom a bit, take off the connectoirs and poke the map sensor wires and the idle mixture adjustment wires back into the cab. Pop the connections back on and mount them under the dash. Leaves a much cleaner engine bay and protects the sensors.

Nice work guys. Has any one worked out the out put for the cvcc injector? Does it pulse or is it continuous. I remember testing it ages ago when I checked the standard injectors. It had a flow rate of about 45 cc min compared to about 190cc/min for the standard injectors. The flow pattern is a singl...

The intercooler should have caught the filings. Take off the plenum and check the throttle body for any signs of metal. A motor not spinning is never good though. Did it smoke much when it ran?

Try adjusting the idle mixture adjuster you'll find it in the black box but you only need to remove the rubber stopper to stick in a small screwdriver.

Yep - kind of off topic but koni red wet inserts shortened and fitted into shortened non openable shock casings - set on stiffest setting (may need to drop it back as the rebound is so stiff compared to the brand new pedders gas I have - I am worried about shock jacking).

This one below. It was still in the shed amazingly. It took about 30mins of mucking about to get it running but it is now in a thousand pieces. It ran well with the 3 year old fuel but the whipper snipper didn't like it. I have rebuilt the suspension and set them on the firmest I can which means it ...

Don't think you'll find any ignition maps on there. It is controlled by the old weights and springs in th dizzy and the vacuum advance. Back in the day I thought they were there to allow the seamless changeover between vacuum and boost. I have tried a JDM civic (na) ecu from 1986 and it runs the car...
