They are slightly different, t1 is smaller. In the pics i've got the t1 gasket on top and the second pic is the t1 gasket on a t2 turbo.. not going to fit!

Currently the rule is 88 or older and you can bring them in, so you should be right. However it will cost you atleast $6000 for one though.. There is two on yahoo auctions and they would be ~$8k for one and ~$12k for the other.

Not a very cheap way of getting one!

I'm pretty sure the mugen racers ran ~23psi so you'd think it would have the boost cut removed and have maps for the higher boost. They ran an Air/Fuel controller too so I guess the ecu didnt do all the work.

Now lets just hope someone still has a mugen ecu somewhere so we can find out!

I think glenn had a hks fcon which is a standalone ecu.

It seems Charles did have the code from the mugen ecu at some point but might not have it now. Link to thread
