Did the research, zeroed in on the fuel pump relay. Sure enuf, cold/old soldering! works great now. The clue is: turn key on, listen for fuel pump before starting. jc

Not a bad price

Had nearly identical stuff done to my two T2s and the cost went way past double what you are asking. Too bad its not in NZ!

start-stop problem

Pedro had another episode: Starts instantly on key switch but stops when key is released. Curious also that test lights do not illuminate. I wiggled the switch and attempted start about 10 or fifteen times and it decided to work. Its been about two months since the last occurrence, I hope it will be...

WTB '84 T2 Ignition key switch

Had a Civic kept quitting after starting that baffled many mechs until an old Honda hand said to replace the switch. Now my T2 does the same about ten percent of the time. Have a switch with key? I will try to get a locksmith to match my present key so I can use on doors. I also need turn signal swi...

Re: any body from auckland, nth shore or HBC?

Hey, just in AKL from Hawke's Bay for a while. On the way here my horsepower went to 12, I could only go 90 ks on the flat and barely pull any hills at 40km! I pulled over and let it cool for 30 minutes, the problem disappeared but came back 20 min later. Staggered into the city of sails, next day a...

Re: Wheels/tyres

Okay: I settled on 15 inch silver wide 5-spoke with 195/45/15 as they were the same outside diameter as my  185/60/13's. I still had to roll the rear guards, thanks for the explanation. New yellow paint, top speed down to 160-I think the waste gate is seizing up, in the shop now. YD

Re: Original wheels

On that last: I didn't mean steel wheels! I meant titanium-look dark gray or black cast aluminium! I think I'll go with 15 inchers, but what rim width or offset? What tyres will give same diameter as my current 185 60R13? Or would a tiny bit more diameter be OK? Thks yd

Re: new wheels

I'd like to go to 14 inch or 15 inch wheels for my T2. When I shop for wheels, what specs to state? What is the  hole pattern? how much offset will work and stay in the fenders without rubbing?  How wide can the wheels be? I like the idea of the 195/50/15s, anybody have pictures? I'm  looking for a ...

Original wheels

Restoring '83 T2. I need the double 3-hole original cast wheels in good shape. There must be a lot of these around because every T2 has new wheels. Are the originals 13X5?  I will drive with another set of new wheels to use 195/60 tyres (maybe). I also need to know of a wheel/tyre dealer in NZ that ...

Wheels/tyres

Time for new tyres: I now have 185/60R13-80H but would like  grippier (wider?) to be stickyer on the wet. (two spinouts!how can I make the rear from trying to swap ends?) I don't like my lace rims and would like to find the originals but if they are 13X5s maybe they won't take the wide rubber. Whate...
