Ok I checked out the wiring with the diagram & it all seems to be correct. So either they somehow stuffed up something during the compression test, or it's pure coincidence that something else has shat itself afterwards. thinking of putting in new plugs regardless though I spose... :?

I had abit of a go at the plugs, took them out, never done it before so dunno what I'm looking for. They seemed ok but may as well buy some new ones. If they have stuck them on the wrong way I've got no chance of putting it right  unless it's something u can do by trial and error. Second I go...

*SIGHS* Had the Turbo in for a compression test, result came back ok. They had the car for 3 days, and basically said they couldnt pin down what was causing the smoking & oil buildup problems. SO at least this time it didnt cost me anything..Anyways this place is across town from me, so the car ...

Thanks will pass that on to the mechanics. It's really the fact that i had a new exhaust fitted, then noticed more smoke, did a oil change and then found that bit of metal. But with the Turbo obvioulsy working and the engine still seemingly running fine ( not knocking, not overheating or using more ...

Thanks for the advice 8) If you fit a bigger exhaust to this car & dont do that enlarge your wastegate mod, does that put more load on the turbo & cause it to work harder/wear out faster?

Started working on the engine tonight, plan to take the sump off & see what I can see etc, Anyways I removed the Intercooler, and as I pulled it from the top of the engine out poured about 200mls of black engine oil  Can't be a good thing? Does this mean oil is being pushed into the carbi...

ENGINE REBUILDS

Question, When it comes to having an engine rebuit, Is there any advantage in having the engine already out of the car?

Mine will/would need both the gearbox & engine torn down/inspected/repaired etc. So easier to transport just an engine around rather than with a whole car wrapped around it...

So Had the car at Ultratune Joondalup. After having it for the day they have reported 'suspect a worn turbo is causing smoke' After I showed them the 2nd peice of metal I got from the sump they changed their minds to blown piston ring, even though the engine is actually running fine/smooth. $60 buck...

I’m taking mine to Ultra Tune here in Joondalup, as it’s close to work & guy there sounds keen to check it out unlike afew other places around here I’ve been to before. See how it goes. Mines had the pulsing idle since I got it running & from what I’ve read about blown engine rings etc. it c...

I reckon I've blown a ring  metal bits look kinda ring-ish...car puffs out smoke when u rev it high etc..and it's always had that erratic pulsing-idle thing going on...she's going into the mechanic's on Friday..
