Re: whats this vacumn hose 4?

Hi everyone I've just priced out a new T2 vacuum advance unit for DR86.  I can get new vaccum advance units here in NZ for approx $120NZD including courier to eastern OZ states (would probably be a little more for SA/NT/WA).  I don't mind sourcing these for you guys BUT it MUST be cash up front, pre...

Re: Head Gaskets

Hi ste Mine is an 86 Cabriolet, I brought a T1 as the donor car.  The brakes on my Cabriolet were bigger so we left them in place.  The engine is no problem, I use the original cab radiator, the T1 doesn't fit.  Most of the effort is in the wiring loom, especially around the rear for the lights and ...

Re: whos up in Brisbane?

Hi Smithy

That idle problem sounds like the standard hole in the vacuum advance diapham problem.

Re: Head Gaskets

Hi Ste

Look for a Turbo to recon and drop in it.  I dropped the T1 in mine after blowing the end of an exhaust valve on the standard Cabriolet engine.  There is a bit more playing around to get the electrics sorted, but it is just sooooo much better with the Turbo in there....

Cheers

Re: lights on digital speedo

Yep, been there, done that.  I know exactly what you mean, I was lucky though I didn't worry about it and it just came on a few days later, guess it probably was some kind of bad connection but strangely it's never happened since, if it ever happens again I was just planning on just replacing the wh...

Re: Wierd Noise

Hey Loren Yeah excellent to hear you've got it up and running, pass on the noise but sounds like the other guys have got it nailled.  I didn't get that noise on mine but then I'm still running the standard airbox setup (hopefully not for much longer).  I'm using a racepro BOV on mine which is also p...

Re: Wiring Diagram

Ok, well I spoke to the guys at the garage about the green one and they've said (as best as they can remember) it ran to a relay under the dash for the fuel pump and had you checked your getting fuel pressure, they also mentioned that there is a large block connector next to the drivers seat that co...

Hi Brendan

Don't stress on it, I think we should just keep going there's enough people here now that know their stuff to be able to cover any info that might have been lost in the old forums.

Re: Tension Timing Belt

Ummm, no, my swap was done with a T1 engine, the turbo radiator is slighty thicker so I was originally thinking of fitting it for better cooling but it just doesn't fit, even if you change the rail across the top/front, so I had to just use the standard radiator that was originally in there.  We cou...

Re: Tension Timing Belt

Hi Loren I don't think theres any other way, the guys that I got to do mine missed that first time round and ended up having to pull the dash out again.  They also had to go back and have a second go at the wiring loom at the back end for some reason (past the fuel pump), I'll give them a call tomor...

Re: Tension Timing Belt

Hey Loren

Hows progress going on your conversion, remember to swap that heater box, it was a bastard having to pull the dash out twice.

Cheers
