Re: National Meeting at Easter

You are supposed to be a member of one of the recognised Honda Clubs.  So you join on the day, this is needed for insurance purposes.

As a day member, you'll actually be joining the NSW club, as they are CAMS affiliated.

Well worthwhile.

National Meeting at Easter

Hi, Anyone interested in getting their T1's and T2's along to Warwick (southwest of Brisbane) for a bit of fun on the Morgan Park Raceway this Easter? The Honda Car Clubs National Meeting will feature a driver training, regularity trial, sprint on the circuit on Easter Saturday and a country tour/dr...

Re: Who imported these T1s and T2s

There were 4 or 5 companieswith compliance authority for the Turbos, nearly all in SE Qld.   They each appear to have brought in about a dozen. When they arrived here. 1989 - 1992, they were very popular as there was nothing else that was as good a package (performance and handling and practicality....

Re: T2 Problems

Following on from what Henry had to say, when you pull the binacle out, completely dismantle it and run your soldering iron over every joint that there is. I did this with mine and it solved the boost gauge problem, plus gave much smoother running.  There is some feedback circuit between the boost g...

Re: CV Joint

Okay, I went to these people in January 2004 and they were quick and neat. A & F Driveshaft Repairs, 2/35 Clarence Street Coorparoo. 07 3847 8200 $180.00 including fitting.  Whole job completed in less than 30 minutes (left side). They can, and do, ship Australia wide.  Turbo drive shafts in sto...

Re: T1 problems..

Hello HB, Have we got some more symptoms?  What's lurking under the oil filler cap?  Is it nice dark brown oil, or milky sludge? When warm, with the radiator cap off, what's happening to the water?  Oily scum and bubbling when you rev the engine, or just overflowing? With it idling, how's it behave ...

Re: T2 Injector service

Ah, symptoms.  Pulling number 4 plug makes no difference, plug is wet with no sign of ignition.  Huge amounts of blow-by.  Finger over rocker breather pushes dipstick up and blows oil out. Oil (presumably from blowby) super saturated filter catch and through into intercooler. I don't have a screw-in...

Re: T2 Injector service

Thanks bigelboe, Been there done that now.  Now I reckon that I could've got it out without taking off the throttle plenum, but it's all experience. Injectors were fine.  Put them through the ultrsonic cleaner.  They now look better from the outside. Seems real problem is not with the injectors, but...

T2 Injector service

Has anyone got any words about pulling out the injectors and cleaning the fuel supply rails? Anyone done this?  Any experience with servicing them? It's fairly busy having to pull so much apart so that I can get the rail off, so if anyone has got any tips, it'd be appreciated. Thanks, Campbell

Re: Some general Questions, for the smart ones

This may be totally irrelevant but,  was the aircon on or off when you had the hesitation? My T11 would keep its' temp down to first 3rd even when running at 110km for over an hour non stop, including sprints up to 140 when overtaking, with OAT of 25 to 27. When happy, it's not right now, would pull...

Re: Anyone tried the New Shell Optimax Extreme???

Where abouts are you? We don't have many outlets around Brisbane offering the ethanol blends.  Our (club) collective experience is that (normal) Optimax is the way to go. Honda Australia can not give you any advice specifically on the Turbos and ethanol use.  So don't even think about asking them.  ...

How's the dash?  We had a fellow contact the club about needing a good dash late in September.  If it's good, I'll chase the lad up.

Getting together in Brisbane (Qld)

Hello Brisbane Honda owners, Are you interested in a night out with Honda Australia? Where Honda Australia show you a couple of AV presentations about new products (cars) intended for the Australian market, and generally Honda technology advances. Where you can have questions answered by the fellows...

Re: something strange

Hi Turbocab,

When this happens, how much boost were you pushing?  If it's full on, it's a protective over boost cut.  Damned annoying, but others have posted a bypass modification.

regards,

Re: general questions...

Remember that there are some old standards.  The wear on the clutch and brake pedal rubbers. The wear on the "original" floor mats under them. Old engines will always have a couple of oil leaks, especially off the cam and crank oil seals. Check the conditions of the various vacuum hoses.  ...
