Re: #4 went down... what to do :(
Hi Justin, before we go too far. Knee deep in greasy, grotty parts, skinned knuckles and nothing coming undone without breaking a bolt, or two. What's the diagnosis? Have you compression tested the engine? All cylinders, not just the sad one. Checked the valve clearances? Go slightly loose on a...
Re: smokey
Hello Turbocab, In all probability it could be the valve stem seals. First get some new seals. Local feed back is that they may not be a stock item anymore. Do you have the part numbers? Avoid taking the head off. Taking the head off is tedious, expensive and gives you the chance to break lots m...

Re: Turbo 2 problem
Okay, a number of ideas, but have you checked the ignition timing? And the advances, both vacuum and mechanical. At one stage my mechanical advance was seized and those were the symptoms. The experts blamed it on the fuel injection computer. Had the distributer cap off and noticed no advance move...

G'day, As for getting together, there's no excuse for anyone within 150km of Brisbane not getting along to this one. McLeans Bridge, Mothers Day. 9am to 2 pm. For once let's have more than 1 T2 turn up there. We don't have any plans to be part of the show, but come along and look at the amazing arr...

Re: CIVIC/ CITY HONDA CRUISE 2005 (Brisbane)
Hello, One problem of course was that the date conflicted with a pre-exisiting activity for the Honda Car Owners Association. Months ago we'd decided that we go tot he Maritime Museum for a bit of a look around. We are planning a trip up around Caboolture and out to Kilcoy later in the year. Thoug...

Re: Module part number
Hello,
The ignitor control unit in the distributor should be: 30120-PH4-005
At least that's what it was for my T2.
Okay?
Happy purchasing.

Re: baby capsules
Smithy, My T2 has the threaded bolt holes up high, one each side. Makes much more sense than the low mounts that are in similar age Civics. You can still use the luggage area. The baby seat/capsule also uses the seatbelts to hold it down. At least the one that I've had experience with. When the ...

Hi Andy, There are a few here from the Brisbane area. I've just got back from our "Not the Honda Clubs National Meet" holiday. The NSW Club were in charge of this years but dropped the ball. Next Easter we, the Qld Honda club, will be organising a National Meeting at Warwick, with a spr...

There's a HCOAQ car care day at Hondacare (Sumner Park) this Saturday.
Where at Kangaroo Point is the silver one? I usually park down near the St Helena Apartments.
Keep an eye out. What sort of photos would one be taking down there?

T2 Head gasket Wanted urgently
Hi Guys, I've also posted this in the For Sale/Wanted, but I want to reach as many lads as possible. A fellow travellor needs a new T2 headgasket urgently. He overheated his T2 and blew the headgasket. He's checked with the local dealer in Narita, but told nil stock Japan. Has anybody sourced a non...

Re: City turbo Buyers guide??
Hi Akuma,
How about you come along to the local Honda club meeting on Monday night for a bit of a chat and briefing of some of those little idiosyncracies?
Sport Aircraft Associations Club rooms, just inside Emergency Gate 1, Beatty Road, from about 7.45pm. Until you've had enough.

Re: workshop manual
Yes, there was never any English language version. And even the part number is in Japanese. But these numbers may be meaningful: 60PD100 for the Turbo and 60PD120 for the T2 supplement. The engine section looks pretty normal. Same as any other Honda workshop manual. Other than the stuff on the I...

Just a reminder, the February meeting of the Honda Car Owners Association is on Monday February 14 at the SAAA club rooms, Beatty Road, Archerfield. From 7.35pm. Come along and say g'day. (Unless you're too busy Valentining the special friend in your life (after the T2, that is.) I saw another T2 ...

Re: Vac Advance Part Number
Hi lads, A note on the part numbers. Honda have been the butt of many jokes over the years as a result of the perceived complexity of the part number. But, the first block of numbers is a function indicator, this is virtually common to all Honda models. You'll know straight off if it's for the ex...

Re: Grinding noises
Probably bearings if you can wobble it around. I do hope that you aren't driving that around? Bearing replacement, as I recall it, needs a decent press. If it didn't wobble, an awful grinding noise can arise when your brake pads are down to their backing plates. Or the brake disc is totally rooted....
