Re: Broke a C.V. Joint

Well now, It would help me to know what the Turbo City combustion chamber looks like from the factory. Is it the same head as the standard City? Awhile back I asked if someone could download some pics of the City combustion chamber,if different from the standard head, but so far no luck. quench does...

Re: Broke a C.V. Joint

Haven't heard, did you make it home on your tranny? Is the noise still there?

Re: Motor Swap

If you've never seen it, Adrian Frankel has a site that details the changes he made to solve those problems on his car. It has something to do with Honda Civics in New South Wales (NSW). He has adjustable lower control arms, and I'm thinking you might be able to use the balljoint portion of the City...

Re: Broke a C.V. Joint

Wow, I was afraid of that possibility. You may have done internal damage to the tranny when you lost the axle CV at speed like that. I hope that is not the case. First thing I would do is drain the oil from the tranny and look for metal floating around in it. Hopefully there isn't any. In any case I...

Re: Motor Swap

cearman...look up the thread on building a 1500-1600 Turbo motor based on your factory block. There are still lots of those parts available in California. There are more than one of us looking at it from that angle, Stateside. It's not just a drop in though, but  then again nobody knows for sure wha...

Re: Broke a C.V. Joint

Oh yeah, BTW hyperblade et al, those CV's will talk to you for quite some time as long as the boots are good and you don't "abuse" them ;D . Just don't mix and match sub parts from CV's, as like all bearings  gear sets etc , they wear in together and mixing them around usually cases premat...

Re: Broke a C.V. Joint

...And you know what this just proves that none of us should be throwing anything away if it is still useable, because as these cars get older lots of parts will become unavailable. If I had some remote i.e.rural acres at my disposal, I would have been collecting these old 1st and 2nd Gen cars for y...

Re: new 2inch plenum

Oh, I've never seen one in person. The groove for the O ring would make it unfeasable from a cost standpoint. I guess I SHOULD have realized there was an O ring, every thing else Honda does has one ::)

Re: new 2inch plenum

You know that is a simple enough piece that I'd be considering making a good wood pattern exactly the way you want it to be, clearance and all etc., then take it to a foundry and have them cast one up in Aluminum. It wouldn't take much machining to finish it for use, and if it turns out to give a va...

Re: piston rings

Justin, You might want to consider getting the second set of rings oversize , because there is a good chance you'd need to bore the block to build again... of course that then suggests a set of oversize pistons as well. But then as we are finding out it's pretty hard to figure for years in advance w...

Re: John S - Rocker Cover

Sure dude, I don't blame you for not wanting to spend money on shipping if you can avoid it.  Be advised though that the "Civic Guru" i.e. Adrian Frankel used a set of 2ndgen uprights on his 1stGen Civic, and he said he had to modify nearly everything else on the front end to get them to g...

Re: 1982 civic wagon  BRIS AUST

BTW, All aluminium heads half to have hardened valve seats so by thier nature they are designed to run on both leaded and unleaded fuel. Good FN thing since that is all we can get in USA now...and a low grade at that.  All Hondas will run on leaded fuel but it will junk up a cat convertor in short o...
