ok the speedo cable is broken :(
does anyone know weather cabrolet and t2 speedo cables are the same?please help me before i drive 3 hours to get one this saterday

that sounds promising ile give it a go. might take it to my mechanic see what he thinks about the speedo not working
what do you mean when you say i should be right as long as i didnt pull the cable all the hay out?

help help help pulled out the cable  at the diff turning it did not move the speedo at all. then the cable sort of came free from the outer and moved out toward me, further more i cant get the clip back on, should the cable do this and how the hell do i get the clip back on?help!

i am assuming your rubber seal that goes across the top of the windscreen and side windows is broken? you may be able to find something to replace the side bits at a shop that sells rubber and stuff (like clark rubber, a shop near me) i was also thinking about using some of this black sillicone base...

i was thinking about getting a seperate after market guage for the speedo
ile have a look tomorow and see if i can find the other end of the cable

i just tried for abuot an hour to get it to work up and down the driveway still no go ::) could the end of the cable be broken?can i tell with out pulling the whole dash apart

yeah thats the bit, i think the plastic clip is all right i can get my hand up there the plastic clip seems to have a bit that sticks out to clip on to a notch or bump on the socket protruding from the back of the dial,does any one know what possition the clip should  be in to catch on this notchbum...

does any one have any tips on reconnecting the cable that drives the speedo? i had the dash apart a month ago or so,i had some issues reconecting then but eventually got it.today whilst driving the bastard came disconected and i cant manage to get it to go again  :( please help me ive got a test for...

as far as the roof goes i would put up with your water leaks if their not too bad. i was quoted $2500 to totally re cover the roof in cloth (like you would see on a bmw etc) all the people i spoke to said they could not get the same material as the original bummer :'( second hand tops are also becom...
