Use the infobase to make sure your ignition and cam timing is bang on!

Then if its still slow I suggest you compression test it and check that out against what it should be.

There is also some cam wear that can occur which probably makes it produce a lot less power.

How does the HKS do ignition adjustment? Does it go in between the ignitor and the ignition coil? From factory the city has very basic carburettor-style ignition control. Advance is totally handled by the vacuum advance/boost retard module, and the sprung weights in the distributer. If you wanted t...

This is sweet! The ECU I originally got from you James wouldn't run my city at all, didnt try switching it while it was warm though. Brendan do you need any ignition timing control like I have in my city the HKS EGC? I have a spare. I got my city into position to do some more work on it soon and ins...

They are a lot tougher cert wise now days you have one of those old skool certs from back in the day right? A mate of mine had to cert with 15x7s cause they wouldn't let him through with 15x8.5 front and 15x9.5 rear as the tires were too stretched AND you cant buy a tire in NZ that's wide enough to ...

Can you make these circlip height adjustable by any chance and black? I also do not want / need a cert Do not like the fact that they put everything on the cert plate then nothing can be changed without recert suspension heights +/- 5% is BS and I wont even be able to change size / width of wheels. ...

That's clean for a T2 these days, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? What kind of wheels are on it and if your thinking of upgrading in future let me know if you want to sell them. I think if you want to change colour you need to stay silver so you don't have to spray the door jambs u...

Damn that's nasty, So unfair that people have to do this to tidy classics, I have a pair of reasonably straight guards, a drivers door, bonnet and possibly a rust free hatch as spares around I can sell cheap if that helps getting this thing tidied up. But You seriously need to move somewhere with a ...

Yeah its not as convenient as that, but most people I have known with adjustable suspension just tweak it a few times when they install it to get it where they want, and leave it at that. A lot of modern cars you have to dissasemble the interior of the car to get at the rear shocks to adjust them a...
