Water pressure is a meaningless measure - it should be fairly constant at the setting of the radiator release valve, which flows to overflow bottle - and back into the radiator when the engine cools down. And if it is water in your cooling system your engine won't last long, should be the best of gr...

Sounds very much like a manifold vacuum leak. Over revs on idle or rev hunting is almost always a vacuum hose come off or a broken line. Look for the little black lines around the throttle body, and if you use your ears you can find where that sucking noise is coming from. Pretty well bound to be th...

Green Civic now on road
Chris has fixed the fuel line leak - just a couple of lengths of perished fuel line from an accessory shop. Now replaced with high strength braided line from our favourite hydraulics workshop in Edwardstown along with a new length of fuel delivery line in stainless under the floor pan rather than th...

Boost versus revs
Chris, I think your memory is a bit dodgy (too much wine) Mine tells me (but it could be age) that quite decent boost began at about 2,500 and rose very fast, being quite massive by 4,000 with an open throttle. The issue was balancing power torque steer (ie not hitting a power pole on one side of th...

Green Civic / City Turbo for sale (non urgent)
The Green Civic that CT and JohnT re-built after buying the car in bits from Charles is for sale, if a suitable buyer is around. There is quite a description of the car in the members ride section. Status at the moment is that it has not been used for about 18 months, needs some fuel line work done ...

Re: Misfire when on boost
Any chance you've destroyed the turbo / made it intermittently not run? If you have, you wouldn't get above 0 (atmospheric pressure)
Pressure surge like 1.5 Bar could damage bearing in turbo.....

Re: Hi.... I am new here
Have a browse on many entries here, touches on issues like rust in body and so on. SO scanning the "General" forum is a good start!
But in the main this site is focussed on performance or other enhancements to City Turbo models.

Re: CITY in Adelaide
The interior is pretty good, new carpets over soundproofed floors, Prelude seats in front, overhead Civic console with map lights ( needs minor repair) & nice steering wheel. Exterior of body needs some work, roof has been dented at rear and green paint peeled off and bare spot needing build u...

Re: CITY in Adelaide
See John & Chris's ride in the members details. At the right price, this rather warm Civic / City is for sale, if Chris can be persuaded that it ought to be running around instead of sitting under the vines in our driveway. Comes with an extensive spares & parts list, including spare head, c...

Re: Civic T1 not working
Tim The issue of an engine not starting when hot can often be a rather tired starter solenoid. They start to lose the ability to pull in the main start circuit and the warmth pushes the winding resistance up. If it is that, the eventual answer is a starter rebuild or a new to you starter, but an inb...

If some kind person would tell me how to tell if I have T1 or T2 throttle bodies, I might be able to put COlza out of his pain. I've got two or three bodies, but don't know which ....

Re: Honda City Workshop Manuals!
Brendan I've got a decent broadband service, and could happily burn a dozen or so CDs if there is interest locally. Happy to do so on a "return of favour basis for this community, got a heap of help when I was rebuilding our green beast. Let me know if this is a need, and if so I'll get starte...
Re: lean out
Robg If your engine is leaning out, you need more fuel rather than more air - so higher flow rate injectors. I assume you've overcome the computer's cut out on overboost somehow? If not it will shut down the injectors anyway - as it has no control over ignition, its the only way it can protect the e...
Re: Fuel
We're running premium unleaded in our City Turbo powered Civic and it goes just fine and seems happy.
I'd be inclined to use premium unleaded to get the octane rating if its a Civic turbo along with an upper cylinder lubricant additive every third or fourth tank of fuel.
