The existing wires can be used, but you will need to remap the pinouts to suite the new computer. You might also have to do some electronics to get teh fifth injector to fire often enough.

Excellent response from Bigelboe, totally agree. And yes, partial ECU failure is quite feasible, there are enough A/D convertors on the front end of it for one or more to fail, similar with output drivers. We had all sorts of issues with bad Throttle Position Sensor, was interesting. Well worth chec...

I'd be surprised in an ECU failure resulted in what you describe, as the whole ignition timng and function of the injectors is driven by the ECU. If the ECU was cooked, and not running, the car would be dead. More likely you have a stuffed sensor somewhere, and with air fuel ratio going mad I'd wond...

The idle up solenoid (air valve) is in the metal box that contains the MAP sensors - brass coloured from memory. You test if it is faulty the way I wrote up last night by turning headlights on and off, you don't need to look at it unless it is crook. It connects to the throttle body by a vac line th...

Guys Are you sure you are doing the idle adjustment correctly? If you adjust anything other than the brass set screw towards the back of the throttle body (on top of the body) you are actually playing with the wear stop or the slow shutdown mechanism. In the info database there is an item on slow id...
The over boost issue could be caused by a jammed waste gate - the gate should open, limiting overboost before you get there. So if it is happening a lot you probably have a jammed gate. Seems to be a problem with the OEM turbo? If you have disconnected the waste gate controller, or have sick control...

Unless the City is madly different to the Civic (unlikely, Honda re-use engineering all the time) there is no difference in the linkages. Basically the gearbox gets the push and shove from the bit of the gearstick that sticks out below its pivot point via a long fairly rigid rod, that works the sele...

Update on the Green Beast. It is on the road, we have amended the suspension and feel it is handling better than it was. (Replaced struts with Civic ones, but still have the Charles supplied ones with Koni shocks installed as spares) Noisy fuel pump is no longer in the circuit, the high pressure Bos...

A new GT17 is close to $1,000 from suppliers in this town, but maybe that is an insane amount as there is little demand and therefore a huge margin on them. Don't forget that you'll need a custom manifold to go to GT17, and you'll need a coolant line to go to the turbo as well as the existing oil li...

If you have parts problems I believe we have some City turbo bearings somewhere. I also have a turbo with a somewhat jammed waste gate but not sure of any other issues. Henry looked at it once, might have some idea. If you really need it I'd be happy to provide for the costs of getting it to you. He...
