one thing that works really well on PCB's is x-raying them

Hah! Yeah that does sound like a good idea. OK I'll try to get it out this weekend and take some photos, then x-ray it at work next week.
You don't happen to know the exposure settings I need to use do you?

I've got one that I don't want to part with, but I can take some good photos of it for you and test the components if you like.

There's a thread about it with pictures floating around somewhere.

on the topic of rust i just got a quote for rust repairs on my cab & they want $1500 for all the rust on the car

Yeah I've just been quoted $1350 to fix all my rust up, not the best timing for me but it'll be good to have it done.

Could you describe your symptoms a bit further? Does the temp gauge not move at all, or does it rise very slowly and only a little bit? If it's the second one there is a thread around that addresses it. It may be related to your thermostat, and you may find if you replace your thermostat that the ga...

....thing is i have no experience in modifying cars. Dont know what kind of intercooler to look for, where to put it, how to mount it and where it plums in... A good way of learning about how different mods fit into the car is to look at the garage and see what other people have done. Then go and l...

Those two mods are a good idea, and they won't change your car in a way that an insurance company could get excited about. You may need to be careful with further modifications though. I don't know what your insurance company is like, but if something happens to your car and they find modifications ...

Yeah it's a pretty special feeling when someone comes to your door and offers to buy your car.
I just came home and there's a flyer looking for a T2 on my bed, was that you?

Honestly, get one man, well fun.

My T2 had some crappy paper 6.5" door speakers when I got it, not sure if they were stock but they looked old enough to be. They were mounted to a bracket which was mounted inside a bigger hole in the door, 8" in diameter I think. I'd say it'd definitely be worth pulling your door apart an...

It does look pretty similar. The tanks and outlets are a bit different, but the core is about the same. My core is 550x140x65, and is actually a bit of a squeeze width wise, this one being 20mm less would make fitting it a bit easier. I'll put pics up in my garage later in the week when I've finishe...

Compressor rotation for front mount installation

Hi Guys, Over the year I've been slowly collecting the parts necessary for me to put a front mount intercooler and new intake on my T2. Since it's my only car and I need it to get around I'm going to have to do it all in the space of a few days, so I want to make sure my planning is good. I'm going ...

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f50/MikeShallcrass/parceltray.jpg Here's the side parts with rough measurements. The tray in between them can be rectangular, apart from where it will need a dent in it to fit round the boot lock, as shown by the green line. Hope this helps someone.[/img]
