Re: Where To Buy Parts
Glad to hear someone with a bunch of enthusiasm getting into the City scene. Unfortunately there isn't much available for these cars and parts (especially brand new stuff) can be hard to come by. For starters, the US will have nothing, cars were never sold there. 2nd best would be looking around her...

Re: PHC Perth Honda CLub Event this weekend
Not much... Haven't been up to parents place to swap/ steal more parts for my ProT (i was thinking of taking the undamaged front bumper from the E i have. It's actually black (instead of faded grey) and has the yellow fog lamps).
Been too busy working/ photoshoots >.<

Re: How to properly remove the Motor and Gbox on a std Pro T
I have a copy I made of the service manual for these cars HERE . It's overall pretty simple as there wasn't a lot of stuff attached to the engine back then. Basically you are going to have to remove drive shafts (which may mean removing some front suspension components), remove gear linkage and all ...

Re: Is this a Turbo?
Yeah, that is definitely a ProT. One of the give aways is the lack of the hump on the hood (all turbo versions had a different shaped hood to accommodate the air cleaner). Also, almost every turbo i've seen has the yellow fog lamps, where as none of the Aus versions got them. (though i plan on steal...

Re: PHC Perth Honda CLub Event this weekend
Well, i assume it leaks, haven't had many rainy days since i got it. Rust isn't actually too bad on this one, little bit around one of the shock towers, but it's mainly along the rain gutter/ channel on the passenger side, can clearly see a hole there (only like 3mm diameter, but still). when/ if i ...

Re: PHC Perth Honda CLub Event this weekend
Well, i'll see if i can make it to the next one.
I'd give mine a wash as well, but i'm pretty sure it would leak water inside

Re: PHC Perth Honda CLub Event this weekend
Well, I live east and a little south, and i'm used to living in the hills, so i'll probably join the next one that heads up that way. It's decent enough that it gets me around all day every day and i haven't had any major issues with it (just had to replace radiator hose). but it certainly ain't as ...

Re: PHC Perth Honda CLub Event this weekend
Would feel rather out of place in my bunky ProT not to mention last time i went to attend a cruise, my car was written off >.<
If it wasn't so far NOR i would consider it.

Re: Honda City Pro T in SA on Gumtree
Yeah, that rust is pretty bad, and i can imagine that if it's that bad on just the bonnet, it's only going to be worse in all the normal areas (front strut towers, rear passenger windows, along rain gutter).
I'd offer him $100 and see what happens

Re: City pro... cabriolet?
Well, not to boast, but i've owned/ bought/ sold a few City's this year, but none were cabrios. I've bought a '83 T1 in rather poor condition, unlic for $200. did a fair amount of work to it to get it rego'd, sold it for over 1k with a dying engine. bought an '84 ProT, $400 with a smashed rear windo...

Re: City pro... cabriolet?
The VF vans were called the ProT here in Aus, which is what my white one is. My point was that the Aus parts and Jap parts (from the E) were interchangeable. my white ProT and red E are identical except for the japanese dash cluster and the extra emissions equipment in the ProT. All the City's from ...

Re: City pro... cabriolet?
Should be a very easy swap as they had pretty much the exact same engines in them (the Aus ProT's got the upgraded ignition, the same as the City R's and cabrios). Pretty much just unbolt from one and drop into the other as far as i know. Would be easy enough to do as a backyard project if you had t...

Cheap radiator hose replacement: Top and Bottom hoses!
Here is one nifty trick the auto companies don't want you to know! (no, seriously, this is very very handy to know and i'm glad i looked into it) So the bottom hose in my ProT decided it didn't like the world so much anymore and started leaking. I jimmied the rad cap to not build up pressure and hav...

Re: PERTH GUMTREE
Glad to hear you are getting somewhere with it. Rather unfortunate about that spare engine, bought it off of a guy here but i won't point fingers. But sounds like you have a bit of work set out for you but it will be well worth it in the end. I do certainly miss that little bit of extra grunt in the...

Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Are you trying to get a new vacuum advance or new hoses? If you are just after the hoses then any vacuum line will work (there isn't anything special about them). It's commonly available from most auto stores and you buy the length you need. Just make sure that the vacuum advance is still good other...
