I think leg room may be a struggle to the point that it might be worth modifying the seats to sit a bit further back, though this will render the back seats even more useless for passengers. See how you go though. Rust is a big killer of these cars even here in non salted countries, you'll need to b...

I'm guessing that a rack end is the same as a tie rod end (someone correct me if I'm wrong). You can pick them up from Repco or a suspension parts shop or somewhere like that. Not expensive, around $20? I think I've a box for one somewhere but I can't find it. I doubt you'll find one that says it's ...

Since everyone else seems to be posting up their painted engine bay I thought I'd contribute too. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f50/MikeShallcrass/P9120041-1.jpg Also received my log book this week, which contains my homologation stuff. All sorted. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f50/MikeShall...

The drain holes Hyper was talking about are in the sill running along underneath your car. There is a cavitty in the body just under the doors, and if the drain holes block up then the water level can rise sufficiently that it comes into the foot well. I had a look at my sills over the weekend and t...

I wanted to make some humorous comment about painted asses and include a picture of one, but it's actually impossible to find a tasteful image if you search for "Painted ass".

Yeah those corners are super sucky to work on.

The homologation papers have lots of photos of the joins and stuff. Becasue it was made by a qualified person it doesn't need to be inspected, the photos are sufficient.
But yes, I'm not able to paint it until it's homologated.

Bit late for the dry ice I'm afraid, looks like a good trick though. On a very positive note I have my car back! Here it is with the new seats sitting in place http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f50/MikeShallcrass/P8070011.jpg All structural rust repairs have been done, I'll tidy up all the little re...

ive just finished doing this the hard way Crying or Very sad using a small scraper as a chisel whacked with a hammer.

I found the heat gun just made a sticky mess too, and ended up using a screwdriver to chip off little bits at a time.

Dry ice looks like a much better idea.

Since I drive my work truck most of the time, it won't be on the road that often.
I'll have a word with the appropriate people, I think their intention was just to pretend that I'm always racing, which might be true.
