Re: Aftermarket computer idea...

The stock electronic boost control solenoid should be able to be used. Jaycar are selling an electronic boost controller that hooks up to the existing solenoid, so its possible. Re: Using a importing company?

Yep, there's still cars being imported but its limited. Currently you can bring in any car that was built before Jan '89. Re: Using a importing company?

That article is over a year old. The rules were changed very recently - last month was the cutoff. It sucks big time, all the good cars were just starting to come in like the mistu GTO's and Honda NSX's and many more.  >:( :'(

Re: Using a importing company?

The 15 year import rule has just recently changed in Aus so you can't get city turbos anymore.  The cars themselves were pretty cheap but the shipping, import duties and compliancing was what made things expensive.

For other cars though i recommend http://www.meisei.com.au

Re: my new ride

They are similar to the toyota celsiors, both luxury cars and were sold at the same time. Celsiors came with the 4L v8 and 250hp, while the q45's came with a 4.5L v8 and "278hp" but its more around the 300-310hp mark. Just a bit of a step up from the city :P I'm still keeping the little be...

Re: Fuel cut

Boostcut is around 15-16psi, and you're hitting that at 4-5000rpm, so if you just get a fuel cut defender it will let it keep boosting until you lean out then it could go bang.  It sounds like your wastegate isnt opening properly, so you wont have any control over your boost , it will keep going up....
