I thought that since we didnt seem to be having success with emails I may aswell start us a thread. I spent about an hour giving the cover a clean the other weekend (doesn't really show ). Took some pics to give you an idea of the condition of it before it flies all the way over too you.
As a very rough guess its probably going to be about $20 USD for airmail.
While I was cleaning it I remembered the little fittings that go in the top. They are little cones of rubber with a formed chrom washer on top that sits in the bolt holes. Im not sure if you can buy them seperately, although you do get them with a full gasket set. Someone of the forum should have some lying around tho, colza probably has some, I may even have some in a box at home.
I also found a little bit of damage on one corner where it looks like it has been dropped, but the photo of this is pretty self explanatory. It has been used with the damage there and it didn't affect the sealing of it.
But anyway, here are the pics i took
Let me know what you think.
Cheers.

Re: John S - Rocker Cover
nah, but whenever I send him emails they seem to get junked or not get there or something, and I am selling it, and it is a city part so I felt entitled to use the forum
Re: John S - Rocker Cover
Hi Bigelboe,
Yeah I don't know what the deal is with the Email crap, Ive had trouble with a few other messages as well. If I didn't know better I'd think that some little cocksu----r computer hacker was fn with me, but then THAT would be paranoid...not that I haven't been accused of THAT in the past. I'm sure you are all cognizant of the THEY, and THEM senario...you know the ones that don't exist. I don't know, maybe they don't exist downunder...but they sure as hell exist in the land of Make-Believe that I am surrounded by in the good 'ol USA.
Anyway. I am still interested in the valve cover. I think I will just add repairing the slight damage to the reasons I need a Tig welder...that list just keeps on growing and growing. Also are those gaskets for it hard to come by? I would like to get a couple of them if they are available. I know you guys are fighting over certain parts that are virtuallu nonexistant. Too bad Honda doesn't care about it's older cars like some of us owners do. I know I have helped sell many Hondas over the years simply because people would see the old turd I am STILL driving and comment on it's longevity. You'd think a wise Honda dealer would want a pristine 1stGen taking up space in his showroom just as a sales tool. If I owned a dealership I guarantee that I'd have one sitting right in the middle of all the new ones with a golden rope around it. How easy it is for them to forget it was the 1stGen Civic that actually made Honda a viable car company. Man I'm ranting and raving again...
Tell you what, if you get the messages that we can send each other here in the website, then I will send you another with my address again with another Email address you can communicate with me through.
BTW if you see Colza ask him if he still wants a set of those CVCC Wagon front uprights for his 1stGen 4-DR...which is wayyyy cool. We did not see them here in the USA, closest thing we had were the Wagons. ;D

YYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS ;D
How much can you strip off them to cut down on shipping? Im hoping you can at least get the brake disks off cos those things weigh a ton. Are the bearings the same size as 1st Gen hatch bearings?

Re: John S - Rocker Cover
I will bust them down to the upright only.
John.
John.
Re: John S - Rocker Cover
Actually, before you do any busting, i am just checking out another 4x100 option using city turbo parts. Im just trying to track down some wheel nuts then ill take it for a spin and let you know
Re: John S - Rocker Cover
Sure dude,
I don't blame you for not wanting to spend money on shipping if you can avoid it. Be advised though that the "Civic Guru" i.e. Adrian Frankel used a set of 2ndgen uprights on his 1stGen Civic, and he said he had to modify nearly everything else on the front end to get them to get even close to alignment spec. But hey, you don't know till you try...the City parts might be close enough to work.
As far as breaking the assemblies down, I would do that no matter what. I have the Honda tools to do the job right, and a press so it's no big deal as it only costs me time to do it. 8)Besides the bearings have a lot of miles on them so I'd need to do it anyway. ;D

Re: John S - Rocker Cover
Yeah I know the 2nd gen ones are not a good option, ive bolted some of them up before and i know what a mess that makes. The City ones however are different. Not sure if that means they will work, but they look ok so far
