Anyone got one available? It seems to be the cause of the hunting problems.
Otherwise how much have people paid to get one fixed? and where?
Cheers,
Brendan
Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Hey Brendan, get a bit of vacuum hose and put it from one port to the other, see if that makes a difference.
Make sure you block off the original hoses coming from the inlet manifold!

Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
$80 dual diaphram fixed, and made pretty big difference.. although my idle did not change.. and was not hunting before it was fixed.. so I dunno about the Vac advance??
Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
There's a place in cabolture that repairs them, its $75 to get it repaired.
Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
I just got mine done at Carb & Gas in Woollongabba, in Mountjoy street. It cost me $66 but that was because the place they send it off to took a bit long, but it was supose to be around $80 or so..
Alot smoother now, had no problems with idle so cant comment on that. And they even resprayed it! Looks like new

Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Hey guys, thanks for all the info!
I actaully googled for vacuum advance repairs and found those guys civic_killer and si are talking about!
im not totally convinced that the problem is the vacuum advance just yet.. i tried boostboys sugestion, no difference >:(. however, that being said, we were able to get it to idle smoothly by retarding/advancing the timing.. so that kinda makes it obviously the vac advance. ??? RIGHT?!
I noticed last night i had some coolant leakage around where that water temp sensor is on the back of the inlet plenim. So i will make sure that is clear (again) before i take the vacuum advance to someone.
Thanks again everyone!
Chris

Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Hey my vacuum advance isnt even hooked up on my t2 and i notice it takes 2 hoses for the vac advance. want to kno exactly where to source these from. any help will be very much appreciated, thanks
Re: Wanted: Vacuum Advance
Are you trying to get a new vacuum advance or new hoses?
If you are just after the hoses then any vacuum line will work (there isn't anything special about them). It's commonly available from most auto stores and you buy the length you need. Just make sure that the vacuum advance is still good otherwise that could be why they disconnected it in the first place. There should be a diagram under the bonnet (or around the internets/ this forum) to show you how it connects.
