Hey Man,
Do you still have that car? I'm just finding off a friend if it will be hard to rego'd in nsw. Is $2000 still the goin price?

How's the body? no rust and is it straight? And is the interior good? particular the dash? any cracks?

What type of wheels do you have on it?

It has a pretty good body on it i'd say, just a few minor bit s and peices. Rust is fine maybe 2 little bits (like a match head each) dash is good,no back seats. Its got 13's of some sort. 2g is still the price "AS IS" motor still needed to be put into car. I can't see why it can be registered in N.S.W thanks MATTY

Sorry to side track but back to your clutch, are you running a T1 flywheel and box? If you are then did you just buy your clutch stright from exedy? And if you did how much did you pay? Cause I think i fu(ked my box and/or diff and the only boxes I have access to are t1 ones so I am just reasearching clutches now before I have to change.

How much work needs to be done for the engine to go into a civic? I know about mounts and stuff but the engine in particular? Will posibly pay 2000 depending on shipping cost.

The motor is finished, just hasn't been put in the car yet. So i guess it wouldn't be hard to put it in your 76. Matty

Bigelboe,
I'd think it would be easier to find a 2ndGen gearbox than a Turbo City one...that is unless you already have one.
Too bad it's not easy to get an LSD for them...that would be the ideal  setup. They don't break all that easy.
BTW, did you see the message I added on the earlier thread? I only have one spare Prelude upright, but if it wasn't so damn cold I could get over to Pick-a-Pull and get the other parts. Might be warmer next week...have to see, ;D

I think Ill stick with my 2nd gen uprights and make it work. I think my gearbox is actually in decent condition apart from the syncros, the only problem with the 2nd gen gearbox is finding a decent clutch.

If you are going to use those threaded 50mm strut casings, you COULD try to bore your stock 2ndgen uprights to fit them. Personally I would not go that route. I would fear removing that much meat would be risking weakening the uprights. I like to stay within what Honda wisely deins a necessary safety factor.  8)
As far as a stronger clutch goes, you can't beat a Centerforce assembly. They are not cheap but once installed any breaking point will not be in the clutch. Plus all that strength comes with no additional foot pressure to make it work, and most of the time a beefy clutch means a large increase in foot pressure needed. ::)
