Project: Boostboys ex City

Postby Jacko » Tue Jun 22, 2004 9:41 pm

OK. Im making this topic because Im taking on the challenge of getting boostboys T1 running right.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of mods done to it? (FULL LIST)

I think the problems are atm a leaky turbo seal and worn piston rings.

Im going to get it rebuilt and strengthened when I do so.

Are there any other common problems on Citys?

Thanks for your time guys.

Must you start a new thread for every random thought? Just take it to a damn mechanic and get it FIXED first.

Sorry about making a new thread again. Ive been trying to work out how to delete the other ones but no such luck.

The car WAS sold but the buyer pulled out so now Ive decided to keep it. Im sure I could still sell it but not for anything that its worth. Not many people want to pay for a broken City.

Besides, Ive got some good plans for it in my head.

The reason its not even booked in to get fixed is because Ive been trying to ring the workshop where it will be done but they havent been answereing!

Im not sure what else I should have done to the engine when its getting fixed. I want to make the bottom end bullet proof.

Thanks again.

PS to mods. Feel free to delete other topics.

I would suggest getting it running good, and then thinking about mods after. BOOSTBOY had it running well at some stage so i dont think any more mods are an immediate concern. Unless you have the cash and a spare car to drive while you get the engine rebuilt with forged bits....

Dont stress about the posts man, youll be sweet...

Jacko,

Mate, ive given you the specs of the car, what else do you want?  It has a basically stock bottom end that had new rings in it not long before i sold it.  When i sold it, it was going very strong and was quite a quick car.

Ok thanks boostboy. I thought there might be other things to it too.

Theres a few taps in lines (one is in a vaccuum line  ???) which I thought you might know about but I guess it was Damian who did it?

Also, has the fuel cut been removed? Because behind the little panel in the cabin on the drivers side where some fuses are it has a slot for 'Fuel Cut' and its empty..

Is there a boost cut?

That fuse/relay or whatever could go in there has never been there.  Ive had 3 T1s and none of them had that.

Oh ok. How do I remove boost cut? Is it one of the other fuse/relay things?
