How to preserve (mothball) a motor

I'm about to take a motor out and shelve it for some time , what should I do to preserve it ?

crc make an engine store.. stuff.. that you spray into the inlet manifold while turning the motor over.. works good, spray the out side with fisholene.... then buy a roll of commercial glad wrap(the stuff they use to wrap crates) and wrap it... also works great... for everything

Hi there,

AeroShell make an oil specifically for long term storage of engines.  You may have to chase them at your local airport.  It's intended for "set and forget".

I've never needed to use it, so I've got no idea on cost.
