hey guys and girls, a couple of days ago while driving home, i decided to see what sort of speed i could get the city up to. once i hit 130km/h and beyond, it started getting quite shakey and slightly unstable. i stopped at 150 because of the dodgyness of the whole thing.

how fast have you guys and girls got your city's up to, and do they shake like mine did?

I still have the standard rims on there with normal tyres and standard suspension, im guessing that this is the cause of the shakeing?

i know you cant really expect the lil beasts to pull off any speed records but it was around 130..

any input would be sweet!!!

you might need a wheel alingment or something, people have had them over the limit of the digital speedo which is like 188km/h

is yours a t1, t2 or pro t?

my standed (completely standed) pro t will gladly do 145 in fourth gear with out shaking at all (it has got a bit left). its a fabulous little car.

my turbo cabrolet reached 155 and i had the same problems real shakey...
the t2 however has maxed out the speedo and continued to increase rpm for a good 30 seconds without shaking.(all on private roads of cource  )
get a wheel alignment and have the wheels balenced should sort it out.

155 in my T2, clutch seemed to start slipping really bad which caused the shaking on mine..

I've got up to 165 in my stock T2, and it was rock solid, no wobble or shaking or anything. I can see how people could easily go over 188.

I got my T2 (now TurboCabs) to 155 on goldcoast motorway, but backed off when entered a section unprotected from cross wind etc...doors seemed to be rattling slightly which put me off, as did a premanition of how much we'd flip if my front tyre blew or something...

but car was steady and slowly working up higher...
