T2 Gaskets kits

Postby UNDER8D » Wed Oct 04, 2006 2:35 pm

Some of the gaskets on my T2 are overdue for replacement. Most auto stores have never heard of a Honda City, where would I get gaskets for it and is there any similar gasket kits that can be used?

Thanks.

If you find out, i'd love to know. NA gaskets are (were?) easy to find in Oz, but i couldn't find any of the T1/T2 ones when i looked a few months ago. I really want to get a set or 2 before they get even rarer.

NA gaskets are available in OZ, the bottom end ones are the same (sump, oil pump, crank seals, timing belt cover, etc.) should be available as a set. Head gasket is the same but tappet cover, manifold, throttle body, and exhaust gaskets are different. They are made by AA Gaskets in Melbourne for NZ gaskets and are only available ex NZ. It sounds stupid and I think it is. AA Gaskets belong to the same organisation as Motor Traders (Coventry Group) but if you order from motor traders, they put the order through their purchasing dept in Perth, who order it from NZ so by the time everyone has put a margin on them they get expensive, not to mention the $55 freight. Tappet cover gaskets are no longer available from Honda Japan. Hope this helps, get a NZ member to buy you a set!
