I also found the T2 Mugen rom. I have it on a chip if anyone wants to take it and copy it.

Cheers,

Charles

I would be very keen on copying it, I have all the facilities at uni and I could provide them at cost to others on here, are you willing to send it to me?

thats a good idea bigelboe

also could we start a topic in the infobase and put as much info as we can into it

you know what happened to all the cars?

an australian enthusiast bought them hopping to continue the series here but just before they went on the boat (they were all waiting in a warehouse) a mudslide happened and they were all covered.

true story

The cars were destroyed in the Osaka earthquake in 95, they were in a warehouse that collapsed.

The chip needs to be copied and then fitted into your ECU. It basically richens the mixtures across the range.

Yeah I want it for the performance and also to compare it to a factory T2 rom, that might allow me to establish where the fuel maps are and customise them for bigger injectors etc.

I am quite excited about this, so are you keen Charles?

I have updated the infobase artical I started, if anyone thinks anything needs changing or adding, let me know.

If I download the data off the chip I can post the file in the infobase with instructions on how to chip your own ECU, can do a step by step with photos.

Hi Charles & bigelboe...

I would be most interested in getting a copy of that Mugen ROM.
Please let me know what you would like for your troubles...

The plan is to make a replica T2R for the classic Adelaide...

I have made molds of a replica Body kit, only made possible by Turbocab's trust in a stranger!

Any further sharing of your wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

i had those homologation papers they were given to me by kazaoka when i got the kit.but i cant find them no matter how hard i look(ile bet someone female that i live with threw them out).
and they provide a rough guide to fitting the kit witch i will need in the next year or so.
so ide like a copy when some are available please.
a few copys of the race footage have been made by prot i just havent been able to catch up with him recently to get them back...hint hint glen!
so i can send a few out soon with the view of recipiants again copying them and sending them on to others.

I really really really want one, but the cost is so prohibitive, especially for an ageing car.

I still haven't committed myself either way.

But look at the costs.

$2000 For body kit
$500 -1000 for shipping it over.
$$$??? for fitting it and painting.
$1000-2000 for rims
??? Tyres.

Then you have to factor in doing up the engine to match the kit.

The thats a heck of a lot of money for an old car. Say it cost $5000 all up for another $20,000 i can get a brand new Swift Sport which kicks a a city turbos ass in every single area. Brakes, handling, performance, etc.

Ill really want one but at the moment im better to get the last piece of kit for my car and paint it. Then i have a nice daily driver.

Ill see how i feel about it later this year.

First two seem reasonable but I recon you could get some decent lightweight rims for around 500 then get wheel spacers to space them out. Can lengthen lower contorl arms too if need be.

As for tyres I would just run 205/45r15's or 205/50r15s on 15 inch old schoolish rims, like the era of whats on my car, would look mean. I dont thinkn you would have to go for exactly the same size wheel and tyre they used, that is sorta old tech now, some lightweight 15"s prolly weight less than the old 13"s they used and modern tyres are so much better.

I also recon a turbo EL engine would be a very period addition to a mugen racer, I bet thats what they would have done if they weren't constrained to the 1200cc with the racers.

It's AU$2000, so make it more like NZ$2500, and that's without a fiberglass or carbon fiber bonnet.

I reckon it's still worth it.
