we are aware of this and have employed a couple more mods to monitor the general board where all the spam seems to appear.

in the meantime i have just installed yet another mod to try to stop the spam bots registering

Yeah I was gonna say, why not have an authentication stage for joining? When someone wants to join they can write a little blurb that gets checked by a mod and if its all legit then they can approve the membership?

Well the latest mod requires you type in a VIP code when registering. It's very easy (starts with 'h' ends with 'onda') so if anyone can't work that out then they shouldn't be using the internet haha. I installed it about 4 hours ago and no bot signups yet so fingers crossed it's looking good!
