Well just picked up a wee City T1 for $1500... so thought I'd stick my head in here and say 'ello'.

And ask a stupid question.
Ok on the inside of the gas flap is a big sticker saying USE 91 OCTANE.
And so I thought to myself - seems a lil odd, would have thought 95/96+ would be the better choice?

Can I just ignore this sticker? BTW - it's an 82 T1.
Nice condition too...

Welcome, you are right in thinking higher octane is a better choice, that sticker was meant to distinguish between using unleaded and leaded most probably.

I try to use only 98 in my car but 95 will be fine for a standard T1.

In the online factbook about the T1 it actually makes a point of saying it was designe dot run on the low octane gas you found in rural areas of Japan at the time, not sure what ment low octane there tho, possibly 91.
