If it is coughing and spluttering, is it still hitting the Fuel Cut?

What boost are you pulling? and when does it cough and splutter?

At 5000rpmp, running high boost, you might be heading towards leanout, or yeh, the fuel pump might not be able to keep up.

Put a fuel pressure gauge on and drive it, see what the pressure is, and if it drops off when you are at 5000.
