Wont be for a while yet people. I wil keep this thread updated with progress. People overseas also realise it will most likely be an exchange service as I dont have an endless supply of city shocks over here. I can probably organise a reasonable number but will be at your cost.

Dont think it is too sensible to be sending heavy shocks over from Australia unless you really have to.

If you want a few sets of city shocks i can pick them up as i head to quite a few yards around the country quite oftern and i do see them quite oftern, do they need to be T2 or will T1 or NA ones also be suitable?

Have you got that T2 yet or does my city get to do the honours? guess i better pull finger and get the turbo on it real soon, the alarm should hopefully be wired up this weekend so the interior can go back in.

Do you want a few sets of T2 shocks to do further testing on i have 1 or two sets here and if T1 is the same i have a set of those too.

Hehe was a full on weekend.

OK city as I said before looks good, minimal rust, bit of shifted metal from a knock front and rear but nothing too serious. Runs pretty well, T2 everything but missing intake and intercooler.

So far some fixed back Momo bucket seats have been mounted, and the front end has been stripped for engine removal to fix a bit of firewall rust and to clean up and paint the engine bay. At the same time the suspension has been removed in order to muck around with it.

Running on 15x6.5" et 43mm with 195/50 wheels, the car sitting on the bumpstops is about as high as the tyres can go into the body front and rear. This means the body of the struts doesn't actually need to be shortened, just the shafts and shorter, stiffer sprigns fitted. We have opened one strut and removed the spring cup and calculated the spring cup's new position. as a starting point we have chosen to go for the lowest ride height that doesnt require certification, going to 100mm clearance on the front crossmember with 6kg/mm springs. The rear is going to be a bit different but not drastically so, still have to get some springs for that tho.

Boils down to we are still going but its looking good :D Colin wants to have the car back on its wheels late tomorrow night so we shall see how it goes.
