1984 City and 1975 Civic

Postby Bart » Sat Dec 10, 2011 3:50 pm

Just wondering if these two models share the same type of engine bay?
Im still considering an engine conversion using a D16 engine or another engine.
So figured if a conversion has been done to a 75 Civic then I can suss out what needs to be done to a City providing the bays are the same.

I'd also be interested to know this info, I'm thinking about building a stockish engine for my city as a spare and if theres a simple little N/A swap/displacement increase, that doesnt require new mounts I'd be over the moon haha.

They do look very very similar, I'm yet to have a real good stickybeak yet though.

i dont mind making mounts as long as the motor isnt too far off
I would love side by side pics of the engine bays

Pics can be misleading. What you need is measurements. Front to back, side to side between chassis rails, height although i wouldn't think that would be a problem.

I was toying with the idea of putting a ZC from a Gen 1 CRX into a GA2 City and have been told it has been done. (the g/box mount was the same and the track width was close)

I don't think any swap of this nature is a case of "bang bang" and it's in so be prepared for quite a bit of custom work.
