p20/a000 gearbox (or something like that) to t1 motor?

Postby Drifter995 » Sat Aug 04, 2012 9:15 am

Aight, so I'm not 100% sure if the gearbox that came with my engine is in great condition (Haven't done anything to the engine yet) but if it does end up having buggered sincro's or is in terrible form, could I swap it out for the gearbox from an eg8 (d15b7 engine, gearbox should be p20/a000)?

I have the eg8 engine and gearbox, but would be far too much work putting the d15 into the civic, so I'm going with the t1 motor.

Any advice would be great

Cheers

In short, no. d series and e series (City, T1 and T2 are ER motors) are basically incompatible.

ah, that's right... forgot it was an e series motor >.>
What would be the easiest and best 5speed box I could source and get if I needed? something like one from an ah?

1st gen City with ER-x motor.

1st gen Civic with EB1,2,3 motor.

2nd gen Civic with EN,EJ,EW motor.

3rd gen Civic with EW motor.

1st gen Accord with EL,EP,EK motor.

Should be able to use boxes from any of those with the matching flywheel, clutch and maybe starter.

Probably easiest to try and source a City one and re-do the bearings, synchros are probably going to be difficult/impossible to source.
