Forum Upgrade

Postby Brendan » Tue Jan 22, 2013 5:03 pm

Hi Guys,

You may have noticed the forum looks a little different. We have upgraded it to the latest version. This makes it more secure and hopefully we can get some control over the spam bots posting rubbish all the time.

We have lost the garage in the process of the upgrade. I propose we go back to using the "Members Cars" part of the forum for posting up details of mods and pictures. If you want to add pictures please use http://www.imgur.com or any other free image hosting site such as http://www.photobucket.com - this will keep the hosting costs down as we were churning through a lot of bandwidth every month.

Some passwords will not have transferred to the new board correctly and people may need to use the password recovery option.

If there are any issues please post as a reply to this thread or email admin {at} cityturbo [dot) com

Cheers,
Brendan

There is a problem with some of the older posts showing

Code: Select all

<br>
tags where a return should be and some are showing [B] tags instead of making text bold. I've put support request in to see if we can fix them up.

UPDATE - this is fixed now. Older posts in the infobase and members board are looking a lot better now.

We've had a big cull of inactive users. The reason is that a lot of them were spam bots who had never posted anything and were using their profiles to link to other dodgy websites. If anybody's profile was deleted that shouldn't have been, please email admin {at} cityturbo [dot) com and we will try to restore it.
