heya guys.

i have recently completed a turbo upgrade on my TII but havent been able to complete the installation.

there is one turbo-to-manifold nut i cant get back on. ive spent maybe 8-10 hours trying to get it back on and ive almost given up.

it is the top right hand one. (the one the spanner is on in the pic from the "wastegate enlarging and turbo removal" thread)

anyone have any advice?

What is stopping you from putting it on?
Not enough room to swing the spanner or something?

yeah well, when my hand is up there, i cant see what im doing.

so first i cant tell if the nut is lined up correctly (im just guessing by feel).
secondly, yes. i can only move the spanner like 40mm at a time.

i tried with a ratchet type spanner and coud only get like one click out of it.

also there is not enough room for me to start the nut off with my finger and thumb.

aaarrrrggghhhh!! my car is slow!

It's been a while since I have messed with the turbo in a standard city engine but I'm pretty sure I made up an open ended spanner that was cut about 25mm from the end and welded back on at 90deg to get to that bastard of a nut.
