Blown Symptons

Postby blitz_power » Sun Mar 09, 2003 5:36 am

Does anyone know the symptons of a :

i) blown gasket?
ii) blown head??
iii) Manifold leakage?

I have a problem that my car idling is not constant and moving up and down. When i accelerate , the car seems not going well on 2000 rpm to 3000 rpm, when full boost the car still goes welll but not as good as before.
Also there are lots of misfiring on the exhaust when idling. i tried to change spark plugs but seems the same, Would it be also the throttle body or air flow sensor? Thanks millions for helping.

take off the radiator cap and check to see if theres oil in the water , or run the car and see if there are any bubbles. check the inside of the oil filler cap to see iif there is any mayo( oil
mixed with water) but that doesnt always mean that there is a blown gasket, does it go through heaps of water?

Check your compressions, that will soon tell you if you have a gasket blown. 95psi at 300rpm. How are your injectors?
