vacuum hose 31

Having got my engine in and running, I now how to try and get the damn thing running nicely! Would someone be able to tell me where vacuum hose 31 connects to? From the vacuum diagram, it looks like it might be the air filtered air? maybe the intercooler box? as my engine has neither of the above im not sure if it connects there or not ??? The other thing is a metal pipe that looks like it should have a vacuum hose connected to it. It is on the turbo side quite low down (about level with the bottom of the rocker cover) from there it disapears down towards the guts of the engine. Ill see if i can get a pic so i can show you what I mean.
