Ive seen the one with the Suzuki Alto trying to drift and nearly rolling it... Maybe thats what they are talking 'bout?

Anyone ever tried drifting their City?  I once drifted right off a dirt road and into a ditch!  :o

I had heaps of fun drifting the civic until the cops ended my fun. Wouldnt want to do it in the city though - that was scary enough driving in a cross wind.

Oh yeah.....   I've got the coolest spot for drifting it every morning on the way to work, crossed up in second gear spinning up the front end, does it so easily, felt a little strange the first time but have got it mastered now, just can't help it really has gotta be done.

Are you guys talking about drifting in the dry, wet or gravel???

cause in the wet i drift my T2 around all the round abouts (if i see there is no bacon around) and i tell you what I soooo would love to organise a city drift day on a wet track.......that would be awsome.

cheers

Only drift I've tried was in the wet...no raining just damp ground...

Around small roundabouts in shoppin centres...
start turn, pull handbrake, wait till slides release brake
and turn to go in exit direction . . .

all fun until we came up hill into my parents, slight
hill, left into parents...
handbrake OH CRAP not slow enough, must have had brake still applied a  little or something..front didn't move.
rear just did complete 180, instantly missed the curb and lampost by about three inches...We sat there for a minute, swearing....seriously scared myself...more in that how close we came to damaging the car!...

havent done it since...

LOL  ;D

Next time you wanna go for a drift take this into account.

Find a road that has a smooth surface.
Go about 20kmh and turn hard either way and pull handbrake.
Keep handbrake on and keep accelarating slowly (not foot to floor as you go too fast and it gets dangerous)

If done correctly you should be able to execute a well controlled drift for at least 30-40 meters.

If anything goes wrong and you dont have enough time to do a 180, let the handbrake down and keep accelerating and under no circumstances brake !!!!

I have been doing this for 4 years now and have literally mastered the art of FF drift in the wet around town (cant say anything about a track as you have to go fast)

safe drifting
