You'll need a fuel cut defender.  I can build you one for around $30 which can be installed in 10min and gets rid of that crappy fuel cut!

Hey boostboy,

I am putting in the front mount intercooler yesterday
need a feww days to put it in.

Problem is if the front mount is put, will my car go lagg?
and i heard we can boost higher. I just worry my engine cant stand it.

do i need bigger injectors and fuel regulators ?
I was thinking to get the fuel cut defender from you but i need idea from you.

let me know..
if i can boost higher without the injectors and fuel regulators, i probably get the fcd from you first.

Thanks

All depends on how much boost you want to run mate.  You could run up to around 17-18psi with a stock engine and fuel system in good condition.  If you want to run these levels you will need an FCD.  Remember that you wont get much of a gain with just an intercooler.  The power you gain from the cooler intake air is often offset by the restriction caused by the intercooler itself.  In order to get a gain from an intercooler installation, a raise in boost is nessecary to gain power.

How's the 'cooler install going?  Any pics?

ITs still in the workshop. Gonna be out by wednesday. But i will take pictures and posted it up. I might need one of the FCD from you. Do you also include the diagram how to install it?

i might changed a slightly bigger turbo in it as well which is RHB5 off a daihatsu charade .> Totally cost me around 800 for all the piping and workmanship, the expensive one is i took out the PGM-F1 and lasercut another metal sheet on top.

Doing this because i can sell separately nextime .

;) ;)

Will try to post the pic as soon as possible letting other members some idea how to put in the intercooler .

Last week or so been running on a low tank due to decent fuel prices skyrocketing again in brisbane
(94c fo r98octane), also  its also a little chiily up in brisbane recently.

Now my brother was behind me and I left lights with a  dual cab rodeo to my right, first second, boost cut, to third..boost cut, fourth....boost cut, rodeo seriously embarrased me !  My brother thought (95 civic vtec)
I was taking my tim echanging gears or something..

whats it likely...boost cut due to air temp?
Or low fuel pressure due to low amount in tank and going up hill?!
Cant explain  either but go t boost cut on motoway too.
fifth gear 4200 revs...slight cut wasnt to dramatic
but enough to cause me to ease it...

I know theres a fuel pump infront of the rear left wheel, but is there one in the tank?!!? which angle and tank volume would be effected...?!?!

Hey mines standard so if the boost cut works at 15 psi
whats the deal there, if standard is 11psi or 12?!?!
dodgy wastegate!?

Hey Smithy, not sure if youve got a T1 or T2 but my T1 is standard bar the 2.5 inch exhaust.  It only makes about 12pound boost and fuel cuts at any small spike over this.  Put a one way valve and a bleeder in and it was enough to stop the spiking.  Bleed valve is wound all the way in so is not really doing alot.

Same bleed valve you'd use to wind boost up?

need a FCD too if winding it up right?
guess that'd go in pipe too.

Oh, T2 by the way.

Ran larvley today...
half to 3/4 full tank...air cool not cold or hot...rained a little otherwise was warm considering it's been damn cold in brisbane recently...

No this set up really works more like a fuel cut defender so that the map sensors only see a max of 12 pounds boost.  To wind the boost up you would have a bleeder in the line to the wastegate or something I expect so it doesn't open as much.  Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
