Hey cityfolks,
Ive got a question. Ive taken my car to a brake specialist and they told me i need to get a brake boooster. Do any of you guys know of any booster that will fit into a '76 honda civic without any hassle? what model and year?
I am thinking about getting the booster from the shuttle civic.
any suggestions?

Re: Brake booster
Hi Sleepy,
I have a brake booster on my 76 civic which fitted straight in. I am not sure what it was off though. Charles who i purchased the car from may know what it was off. I think i recall seeing a booster on some 1 gen civics in the wreakers. It may have been on a 4 door 1500 or on a wagon. All i can suggest is to go to your local wreakers and have a look.
Good luck

Re: Brake booster
i tried to put a booster in my eb1 once out of an 80 civic but the mounting bolts were to short so i gave up
Re: Brake booster
Hey ct,
All Honda Civics from 77-79 had brake boosters on them. Even some 76's. All of them will bolt str8 into the 76 with no hassles.
I have been calling around and spoke to someone from either Honbits (louie) or hontoys and they suggested that I use a 1988 ED honda civic brake booster. $120 for both the master cylinder and booster. Supposedly will just have to modify the pushrod a bit. I will have to tal it over with the guy whos doing my brakes.
He said that if I use the Gen 1 booster it will just fail in the end after a while.
Not sure if all above is right..its just what aI have been told and quoted.
Post me if u come up with a good braking combo.
Hey Dogg,
Do u have the City turbo in that model?

Re: Brake booster
It depends what brakes you are running. Im using the city turbo brakes on my civic with the standard booster and master cylinder and it works fine.

Re: Brake booster
That was going to be my suggestion ....... if you are running a city turbo motor, why not just use a city turbo brake booster?

Re: Brake booster
yeah if you need a new booster chances are you've somehow ruptured the diaphram making braking harder but not impossible
Re: Brake booster
Well my 76 didnt come out with a brake booster or the guy who had it b4 me took it off. Its always been very hard to push ( brake pedal) and just weak as piss for stopping power. I have always had it like that tho....been too busy wiff the engine to worry about the brakes in the build up so far.
The 1989 EB Civic booster doesnt fit.....the guy doin my brakes told me so, so i guess I will have to go for the EN Civic booster. If I can get a hold of a City turbo booster I would but I have more chances of dropping a rotor 13b turbo in the lil old civic than finding a City turbo booster at the wreckers near my area. lol
What do u guys think of this for my brake upgrade.
Front:
1984 Accord vented disks
19984 Accord Calipers ...or 1988-89 CRX calipers.
REar:
EN Civic shuttle 1982 rear drums
EN brake booster and master cylinder
Any config would do me just as long that I end up qiff 100 pcd at the end of the day and ok braking.
