hey

i have found out that the standard pressure plate of a turbo2 is not that good as they are only 600psi where most turbo cars are ment to be about 1300 to 1500psi. thats why ever turbo city clutch i have are stuffed not enough holding pressure.
i took it to a clutch works near my dads work and he said about $320 to beef up the pressure plate and a new puck clutch (brass button).

cant wait to get it so i can drive my t2,  it sucks driving a NA city no power. ;D

thanks kenny 8)

Hmmmm, a while back I picked up a Saico HD sintered bronze puck clutch for my T2 engine from a place in Auckland. Im not sure how it runs (not in yet) but it has to be better than the N/A city clutch thats in there now. Does anyone know how the sintered bronze ia going to differ from a brass puck?

Hey Boostboy, Did that clutch you bought bolt onto the T2 flywheel? I am in the market for a new clutch and found out the clutch plate and spiget bearing are  the same as an 84+ civic but apparently the pressure plate is different. Maybe it is only different in the pressure?

Michael.

:D
Picked up my T2 a couple of hours ago.
Had clutch replaced as was spining like mad.

new clutch Kit, with 40% increase in clamp
macjhined flywheel
new main seal
replaced gearbox oil...
Apparently the serial number i got off a post from while back wass a HD item for a 1200 honda...?
As Boostboy I think said , and correctly so, the main seal was leaking like a arse after a good curry.
and the clutch was so worn it was down wearing on the rivits which were scoring the b-jesus out of the flywheel!...

But holy cow, it takes up quick now, stalled it about 3 times on way home!...hill starts!!! BLIMEY, pulled up to my drive way, into 1st, start rolling down the street, lift up wheels start spinn, and smoke starts comin, crap!
on a flat its easier if I dont rush it, down hill is fine as car can role take up wieght. but damn it holds sweet,
accelarate so slick now...when not stalling, Its either a perfect pull away, or I chirp the wheels (or wheel depending which way Im turning)
Yay!!
now I've got no excuse for being beatin by skylines!
just not enough grip/wheel diameter/power etc...
;D

sad sad.......

I have rebuild my clutch to exeddy clutch lastweek. However the car was going fine on the first day and the pull was definately better than before. I hvae change the crank seals and the shaft seals.

after a day i discover the clutch went slipping again and i went down to have a look underneath my car. and then i saw some oil spill out. I think the oil is causing the the clutch to slip.

I have change the mail seal from the crank but i think the leaking is from the cranks shaft is leaking out from the motor where we bolt on our flywheel.
any one could help is very much appreaciated...

gotta take off the gear box again however need some advices. thanks
thanks.....

He is expressing confusion over your strangely worded response which I do not understand all of either...

ops sorry for my wording..

However the clutch sometimes slip and sometimes goes fine..... i think its the clutch problem not the leaking....
sorry about the confusion.....
