Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
ok well the EL motor is almost up and running
i have optd for what i think is the cheapest, best, fastest and most simple option
CARBY TURBO
i had a rayjay 302b carby turbo just laying around which was built for a civic 1200 carby turbo
anyway the turbo is now in for servicing and will soon be put onto the EL intake manifold, and just bend up some pipe for the exhaust manifold and dump pipe
should cost around $700 for my turbo rebuild
and around $300 for everything else
hoping for 12sec pass first time out

Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
yes but you would have to pay for postage
Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
Do you have the modified rear mount with this motor?
What exactly doesn't it come with that would be needed to power a Gen 1 Civic?
Cheers.

Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
it comes with the engine mounts as well
it has everything
just needs to rebuild the turbo, and put a new head gasket
but this can be done easily

Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
Glenn,
Is that the same car that you took to the drags recently and run a 15sec quarter on really high boost.
You mentioned on the civic1200 site that the engine was pretty well stuffed, ie turbo, head gasket etc, etc.
Is that price negotiable because a turbo rebuild is not cheap and neither is a gen Honda head gasket. Are you willing to supply that with the deal?
Cheers.

Re: turbo 2 motor for sale
ok well you can chuck in the $400 and i will get a rebuilt turbo and a head gasket
the car actually ran a 14.5 sec 1/4
i was running very high boost, but it wouldnt have damaged the engine because i had more than enough fuel
the head gasket blew because of this high boost, which is what would normally happen
my local parts store sells a head gasket for $110
and a turbo rebuild is around $200-400, depending on what you get done, but you can buy a turbo off ebay which often pops up, rhb5, and just put it on instead, they sell for around $100
so if you shop around it isnt that expensive
oh, and im only selling the motor cause im making way for a 1600 with carby turbo application , not because the motor is stuffed, i was going to rebuild that motor and put it back in but i have no need for it now
