Re: what cars has your City left for dead!!

My favourite race in my 1st gen civic was up against a BMW M6 (70's sports car vs cheap 70's hatchback).  I pulled up beside it and gave the driver the thumbs up (car in mint condition and sounds unreal) but the posh italian tosser driving decides to snob me >:(.  We both nailed it and I got about 4...

Re: Bigger pistons

I don't have a problem with the city turbo brakes.  They do brake very hard with decent brake pads and are lighter then the other brakes.  But if I need to I got crx brakes -new rotors and reco. calipers just sitting in my garage.  They cost me $50.

Re: Bigger pistons

This was actually done by the previous owner and was one of the reasons why i bought the car (originally was going to thrash it and use it for parts for my project but it ended up being pretty good car).   This is how to brake conversion FOR DUMMIES ;D front 1-  get brakes off city turbo 2-  press c...

Re: Bigger pistons

Thanks for your help people.  Appreciate the feed back ;)  After reading the 2 massive posts I have decided to shave the head.  I won't try to modify the combustion chambers simply because it's too risky for me.  (maybe after a bit of research) Can anyone recomend a good adjustable fuel pressure reg...

Bigger pistons

I am now looking at rebuilding the t1 engine thats been sitting in my shed for 6months now.  For those who don't know I have a Gen1 civic with a t2 engine which has the usual simptoms of an old engine etc. For my new motor I want at least 8.5:1 compression(maybe even 9:1).  The reason is that the ci...

Re: eb engine bay dimensions

There is a dude in Brisbane who made a mid mounted city (motor in the back east/west) with a camira motor (don't ask)  I think he said he welded in a city engine bay in the back.  think of the posabilities.  The car was actually for sale in 'just cars' not long ago for about $5k.

Re: Civc/City engine swap

If you want to put another non turbo engine in a city (if thats what you mean) your best bet would be to go for an early Accord or Prelude motor.  the only problem with the civic engine that I can think of is clearance of the exhaust.

Re: My Ride..

Man are you talking about the Mugen Jazz I seen in a 'MOTOR' mag, cause that thing was f***ing unreal!  Cleo v6's are cool as (big reno fan) but I'de prefer the groupB R5turbo.  the car that started the whole rear engined hatch thing we all love! 2L 5speed.  ported head, twin 45mm Dellortos, mandrel bent extractors/exhaust, koni shocks, ren25 brakes, short shift, stripped interior, lots of suspension, recaro seat and 5point harness (I accually needed the harness because it cornered like a mofo!) http://www.cityturbo.com/gallery/albums/album4...

Re: eb engine bay dimensions

There are some 1st gen civics with a longer front end so if your going to go threw with this try to find one of these.  I've only seen them at the wreckers.  they do look a little funny though. My previous ride was a hotted up Renault Fuego.  Another advantage is that the drive shafts are the same l...

Re: Misfire when on boost

I got a problem like that.  When I get it (usually on the highway) I put the clutch in, turn the ignition off then back on, then release the clutch.  All this at around 100kph!   I think its got to do with a dodgy wire to the map sensor but haven't got around to fixing it. Tell us how you go and goo...
