Re: Car Audio

Yeah, I was running the polyprop Jaycar 6.5" coaxials in the doors and was most impressed with them. Now going to 8" and 6.5" carbon drivers in the doors with tweets flat on the dash to reflect upwards. Polyprops will now go in a rear build-out on the hatch and recently got the dual c...

Re: dem Type R brakes...

Yo Smithy, Saw a site a while back on replacing with late 80s CRX brakes. Comprehensive instructions and pictures made it look a good idea...was in Japanese though and I didn't get it translated. Still tyring to find the site for ya!  :-/ :) Have used std brakes on mine but will go to carbon-meatlli...

Re: Im a newbie

Hiya and welcome to the site!  ;D I'm from Christchurch, NZ Yeah all of us have the older shape Citys. For some reason Honda decided not to turbo the new ones, damn shame, could have lot's of potential. You could always do what Colza suggested and have a custom turbo installed on yours. There's noth...

Re: question about my back seats?

Have passed a warrant in mine with no back seats. Had the belts tucked away, but said they did function if required. One person has tested them, but on another occassion they didn't worry. Seems to be fine over here, don't know about Aus or anywhere else!  ;D

Re: unexplained engine stop

Yeah, think I have the same problem on my T2 as well. Only a problem if started while engine is very warm, ie stopped for 3-4 minutes. It sounds like the fuel pump doesn't run. OK if left for another 3 -4 mins. Usually try a few starts anyway. Also get a bit of surging/dying while driving along. Oft...

Re: Head gasket set

Hiya Hawk, There was a post a while back that got into gasket sets. I recently got one from NZGaskets, which turned out to be a T1 set, but most of it was ok for a T2 head as well. Just intake gaskets etc too small.  :-/ The part number was included. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is ...

Re: Projected 1/4 times

Yo Glenn,
I reckon the car will do mid to low 14's but it's also up to the driver!  ;D
For more go, you could look at increasing boost and adding a "Boostboy special" Fuel Cut Defender. With that intercooler, it should handle around 18 psi.
Go get 'em!! ;) ;D

Re: thinking of new exhaust soon, ideas?

Yo guys, There's a dude around Christchurch with a pipe running straight down from the flexi. This exits at the back from an upturned 3" tip right in the middle of the car. Looks pretty cool!  ;D I'm using the exact system bigelboe mentioned with the wastegate going back into the exhaust. http:...

Re: Possible FAQ changes - PLEASE READ!

A new board would be the go I think. Just wondering if the FAQs should then appear off the home page under Info after being discussed in the forum. It comes down deciding if it's just for the benefit of members or if it's provided as info for the general public to look and learn from. I was on a Jap...

Re: PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION...

Totally agree Brendan!
We have a great forum going here due to the attitude of those who participate. Anyone who doesn't respect this and can't be bothered having a look for info first deserves their ass kicked or being banned.  >:(
So how's your Silvia going anyway?
Cheers,

Re: im new please help :(

Hiya Citurbo2, Welcome to the site and good to read you've been getting some good info from it. Hey sounds like you have exactly the problem I had in mine. You've got a stuffed head gasket!  :o This causes all the symptoms you've described. Do a very thorough check of water in the oil, ie looks milk...

Yo all, Just like to say thanks for all the support and enthusiasm from you guys over the past year.  ;D I'm sure a lot of people would still be swearing and cursing over unresolved niggles etc if it weren't for this site. Re: cylinder head assembly

Yo Crooky,
There's a little trick to that one, having recently done mine.  ;)
The rocker just to the left of the drive gear can be pushed further over to the left. Then you can just pull the whole unit out.  :)
Good luck.

Re: So what boost we runnin?

Go for a front mount intercooler if you're going to run more than 14 psi. I'm looking at putting the std one beside the radiator. It's got to help eh?!  ;)

Re: cylinder head exchangeability

Must be pretty much right as I used a City "E" (as they are in NZ - same as Aus Pro) head on the T2. Had to do minor work to get the rocker cover to fit, but shouldn't need this on a T1 head. May be different compression, but don't think so  :-/
