T1 for sale

Postby crooky » Tue Oct 14, 2003 8:49 pm

Hey crew, I'm sick of my T1 and whatever its niggly little problem is so I want to offload it onto someone else.  The car has been checked out by 3 different mechanics and there is definitely nothing major wrong with it, but I just can't seem to get it to run 100%.  Really just has a problem with idle due to running too lean (anybody with half a brain or some knowledge of this car may be able to fix - I'm lacking in both).

Black T1 1983
138000 kms
2.5" exhaust and dump pipe (2 months old) cost $650
sunroof
tint
new vacuum advance
Body has very little rust but a couple of scratches
Battery is now behind drivers seat (plenty of room for intercooler piping)
Turbo only 2 yrs old and spools well
9 months NSW rego (lives in Newcastle)
Everything else in good working order.
I have spent a total of about $5500 on this car (I know, I'm embarrassed about it) and will let it go for the measley sum of

                      $2300  ono
Because my girlfriend hates the car and is beginning to hate me!
Will try and get some piccies

There was a spot of rust on the hatch door just under the window (nothing serious) but I rust converted and painted over.  temporary solution.  No rust anywhere else to speak of.  Might consider a trade.  What are we talking about.

Hey Glenn.  Where do you live?  Plus there have been some developments on the running of the car.  You'd better check the latest posts I've made under "T1 too lean" in the general section of this site.  The car is currently running without the CVCC valves operating which is affecting performance.  There may be some engine work required to get it to run 100%.  I have neither the time or any money left to spend on this car to get it running properly but have already invested a fair bit so the battles half won for the person who takes it over.  I really just want a reliable car to get to and from work at the moment so I would probably consider a straight swap.  If you are handy with cars, I'm sure you could get this thing looking and running sweet.  Hit me back if your still interested.  Joel
