The 1st gens with longer engine bays are CVCC's and we didnt get them in NZ so probably not the UK either? Im not sure but i think they are American model only.

Oops  ::) thought you wanted to see the Renault.  Don't have a picture of the civic as I said I seen it at the wreckers about 2years ago (wacol self serve wreckers Brisbane).  There not there any more.  there is another wreckers in Zilmere (probably the biggest in Brisbane) don't remember the name. that also had a large number of old civics.  they might still have some but its an hour drive for me so no can do.

If your going to fork out for an S2000 box why not just put a whole S2000 motor in? That would be MAD ;D

There is a dude in Brisbane who made a mid mounted city (motor in the back east/west) with a camira motor (don't ask)  I think he said he welded in a city engine bay in the back.  think of the posabilities.  The car was actually for sale in 'just cars' not long ago for about $5k.

hey you could actually do a mid mount honda six with a porche transaxle... since honda spins backwards.... either that or just transplant an nsx motor and trans

WTF doggy thats what was in my big post!!

I have been thinking about a north-south mid engine swap using a twin turbo legend v6 with a porsche transaxle all hanging off a half cage...

Put some double wishbone susp in the back when your at it, then get some 0 offset wheels and run 255 rear rubber or more, you then have a wheel standing mofo of a civic....

Of course there is the more tame version(read actually affordable), with a stock turbo legend motor and transaxle using civic front suspension adapted to fit the rear, radiator in the front, fuel tank in the boot, half cage with a harness. Build an aluminum insulated box around the engine. You pretty much have a "Renault Turbo 2" then they had a 1300 turbo north south mounted in the back with a 5spd transaxle, and with the massive wheel arches that the honda city turb inherited. Except you have a mofo v6 in your civic, bags not getting a certifier to pass it tho.

this car is my idol, apart from the shitty build quality ;)
