Re: smokey
I dunno, i think that the NA head gasket is ok, but i know that the turbo engine uses bigger valves, but im not sure whether the shaft of the valve is bigger or not, surely someone must have tried to do a rebuilt with one of these.

Re: smokey
didnt we have this valve stem seal dabacle a couple of years ago.... what was the go then... maybe you should try a search bro and see what comes up cos this went backwards and forwards for ages... or you could try partmaster in chch as that was where i got my head set from.... and theyre pretty reasonable from what i can remember........
Re: smokey
i have searched it before didnt really come up with enything conclusive
jay seems to think its not such a big deal any way so i might leave it until i get back from the snow
then sort it out when i get back

Re: smokey
just discovered a milky off white sludge on the underside of my oil filler cap
this would suggest a damaged head gasket wouldnt it?
and may also explain my smoke

Re: smokey
that could just be from condensation in the motor

Could check if theres water in the oil, if there is it will be milky , and you should stop using it immediatly. Other things can include white/blue smoke on start from cold, when reving engine, also a drop in the water level will tell you if you have a problem.

Ive got valve stem seals here.
Ive had several gasket sets, but ive got a good head so ive never needed the stem seals.
PM me if you want them
