Gearbox linkages done! Far out they were harder than I thought - not! Just needed shortening of the shifter bar and a combo of bending and shortening ofthe other thingo, gearbox stay thing...?

Still feels just like the inspiring shift of the city, about 10 inches of slack until it actually engages the gearbox input. Any ideas on how to tighten the shift feel of these things? I know it's not the gearbox, but the linkages itself being 28 years old.

Mounted my turbo and turbo manifold to check clearances, it'll fit snug inside the front bumper! Just got to make heat shields too now.

Pics when it's all done soon, tomorrow is going to be a massive day, then wiring!!!!

It will be lose from where it joins the linkage and selector.
The bitch pin will be lose on either one of them, Its common for the linkage hole to be a little bit bigger from failed removal attempts.

Well didn't get as much as I wanted done today but I did finish up the linkages. Fixed the selector rod by grinding off the pins and taking it apart where there was some play. Feels better now.

Also made a short shifter while I was at it, now shifts are at least 40% shorter maybe more. Recommend it to every city owner!

I will post one but don't laugh too much, as soon as I'm done with work for the week, this night shift stuff is killing me.

Nah not really mate, just working on the intake manifold slowly. But gotta catch up to you you though!! Should have my IM near finished this weekend, then I can put mild steel wire back in the mig! Might have to grind out the rail like you did for the alternator, good mod.

I'll do some real updates when I get more done.
