T2 racing movie

Postby Fader » Sat Mar 19, 2005 3:31 pm

Hey all, well, its not quite what the heading says, but its still good!

We went up to Mt Glorious this morning, I was driving the City T2, Brendan in his 200sx, and a mate of mine in his 2000 Prelude VTi-R, which he just picked up this week..

http://www.cityturbo.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=moutain_driving

The first one is a bit of a drag between the T2 and the VTi-R, both are completely stock, and the VTi-R owner is still getting used to driving his new machine (coming from an auto EL XR8, to a Suzuki Jimny and now the Prelude). So i guess i wont brag too much about beeting his arse :D. And yes that light went red! of course we both go throught legally!

2nd vid is pretty self explanitory, as is the 3rd.

4th one that was me driving Brendans 200sx, i get a bit excited when i have the power at the rear wheels! :D

So the T2 is going great now! we plan to run it down the 1/4 next friday night, to give some 'stock' figures, as well as one without the airfilter..

Then next the plan is to add some mods, exhaust and intercooler are first on the list, you can really feel it struggling to push the exhaust thru that catalytic convertor..  :-/

At this stage we are looking at mouting the stock intercooler from Brendans 200sx (which is actually an s15 one with thicker core). Just finding a good efficient spot will be the hard part.

Enjoy the vids, they arnt very exciting though...

Cheers
Chris

Cheapest thing you can modifiy for the most power gain is the CAT, have it done on all our turbos, the performance gain is better then adding a POD, and upping the boost, It  helps the engine all round but especially down low in the revs.

Have absolutely no idea. There are MANY things i need to try and get done before the drags. Things like moving my battery so i can get my pod filter out from behind the radiator, that sort of stuff. Not sure how many i will be able to get sorted by friday, well have to see. Doesnt look like the intake manifold will be finished in time, but ill do my best!

Fader, you still going to Willowbank tonight?

I might head over myself and see what my little T1 can do.  It'll be my first time though, so don't expect too much!

That was Chupa in my old City T1 he'd just got his intercooler / BOV mods, so it should have run pretty well.. I'm keen to find out just how well.

yeah that was me

didn't do so well (my first time on the track is my excuse)

16.9 at 130km/hr

had 2 runs but i screwed up trying to flatshift on the 2nd run so my time blew out.

had a bad take off both times (like starting at 1500 rpms -lights took me a bit by  surprise I guess).

I'll give it another go pretty soon, and make sure I get on the revs earlier :)

How high do you guys usually start at?

The first few runs are'nt easy... the lights came on quicker than I expected aswell which puts your revs all out of whack.  Silliest thing I did was to not do a burnout before the start so traction was just a tad problem :D
This was in my 200 though...
